I reckon that trailer would be good to build upon considering some trailers costs just as much as a 24ft caravan these days. I’d start upgrading with better quality stuff where needed. Kings isn’t the worst but it’s not far from it in terms of brand name camping gear but the trailer chassis itself looks pretty tough

@@ottouring I bought one shortly after this video and it is fantastic. Very rugged. Spacious. So easy to modify. I have used it for camping in forests, on mountaintops and at the beach. I have dragged it across Fraser Island twice so far. If I was going around Australia, my preference would not be to tow, though. I would put a slide on camper on the back of a ute. If you need extra room, though, the MT1 is brilliant and especially for the price. I have the Kings Mk3 rooftop tent mounted on it which is awesome and I have a Supa-peg wrap around awning. Total time to set up camp is a leisurely ten minutes or five if racing around. LOL.

Mate, I recon not having an inbuilt cooker is the best way to go. All the campers with gas cookers, what do they do when the wind is ripping in making the cooking a nightmare, or impossible. With this camper you just move your cooking to a side out of the wind. I've owned a top of the line Patriot camper, a $75k Mountain Trail camper but I'm going for one of these as I think it's way better for my type of camping.

Hey mate, Patriot stoves are not built in at all. You can literally lift them out and use them anywhere. We do this a fair bit. However the old Bromic ones are useless if you breathe on them. The new Dometic one looks much better. But yeah, for price, this thing is a beauty.

    3 жыл бұрын

Yea I had a MDC Robson XTT (top of the range camper) and while it was great having all that extra stuff I would much prefer the smaller ones like this as it will actually go where your vehicle can go. Most the cost on these is the suspension $5k right there so assuming a $5k std on road box trailer + $5k suspension you then start adding up the other bits. These are well priced considering. DO35 hitch alone is like $450. Roof tent $2300... now your at $13k before factoring in any other swing out/flip out bits and then electrical wiring and batteries that come with it etc. Seems about right to me. Bigger doesn't always mean better value. Chinese canvas is worth nothing in reality. To be perfectly honest my MDC trailer started to rust in parts and while all the "quality" looks were there. You could tell it was lots of glam done with cheap materials and parts. I did pay $26k for it back in 2018 and its a lot more trailer being a double fold however the mattress was still a concrete slab that needed replacing, the batteries were some generic AGM 200ah worth but in reality prob 100ah, the boat rack rusted and filled with water the checker plate exterior seemed to dull fast compared to quality tool boxes supposedly made of the same stuff, the stainless steel sink corroded with morning fresh detergent? so factoring in all that stuff. As long as the Kings trailer has good Quality Control and warranty. I think its a good buy.
