Watch the recent Rainier one too!
Should have noted tree growth and density as you climbed.
Thinking about going next week. Do I need crampons? Will it be more of a winter or summer hike? Do you know when the summer trail opens?

You can probably get away with Microspikes! The summer route should open eventually
Did you take the winter route or the summer one? How necessary (for example, described as optional, useful, necessary) are crampons, ice axes, snow shoes, tracking poles, respectively? Did you feel glissading down would be safe for beginner climbers?

I took the winter route. You can wait until the summer route is open. For me crampons and ice axe were necessary for going up and for glissading your ice axe is necessary. If you have already practiced glissading, you should be good.

@@theclimbingcadillac No we have not had any chance to practice glissading. Is there a place nearby we could practice that the afternoon before the climb day? Also, if camping the night before climbing the winter route, where is the right spot? Thanks.

@@metacomputist You can go to Paradise, WA. There’s plenty of snow there. If you go up enough you will see some Glissade chutes. I slept at sno-park: Marble Mountain parking lot in my car
Is the mushroom burger made of mushrooms?

No. It’s a beef burger with mushrooms on it but it was very very good.
