Mt.Kailash Yatra V-log #1: I Deeply Felt Lord of Shiva & Milarepa (the luckiest day ever in my life)
Every year, I take many tourists from all over the world to Mount Kailash, doing their lifetime treks here. www.tibettravel.org/
As the most sacred Mountain for people of four religions in the world, Mount Kailash is believed as the residence of Shiva and the center of the world in Hindu, the ancient spiritual seat of power in Tibetan religion of Bon, the place where Rishabhadeva, the creator of the faith, attained freedom from the circle of life and rebirth in Jainism, and the represents of endless happiness in Tibetan Buddhism. From above, you can even see an image of Lord Shiva, on the mountain.
I did the kora many times and met many pilgrims in the past. I heard from them that if one is lucky enough, he/she could see Lord Shiva appears on the way.
But in my opinion, they, the most devout pilgrims, are Lord Shiva that I’ve seen, because they are the ones that praying not for themselves, they are praying for every living being on the earth.
The elder families from Eastern Tibet, the teenage girls from Eastern Tibet, the lama from George, and many other prostrators …all the pilgrims I met on the way brought me much power. They are not only strong in physical, but also strong in mind.
For these prostrators, it takes 15 days for a full Mount Kailash kora, while the general trekking around Mount Kailash just takes 3 days.
I will show you every corner of the mountain Kailash that I experienced during my 2020 Mount Kailash kora. Here comes the record of my first day.
Day 1: From Darchen to Dirapuk Monastery (6rs, 20km)
On the first day, I walked along the southern edge of Mount Kailash from Darchen. The first part of that day’s journey is a relatively easy trek from Darchen to the first teahouse.
After 3 hours, I arrived at the first teahouse at noon, where all trekkers can get some simple food supplement. I really enjoyed my egg fried rice after my half-day trekking.
When I finished my lunch, I continued on for the rest 10 kilometers from the first teahouse. The route of Kailash kora is beside a small river that coming from Mount Kailash. It is actually the source of many big rivers in Asia.
I finally arrived at the campsite near Dirapuk Monastery at 5:40 p.m. There is a guesthouse where you can stay overnight with simple quadruple rooms (without private toilets). Not far from the campsite is the Dirapuk Monastery, from which you can see the north face of Mount Kailash.
This is just day 1 of my Mount Kailash trekking, and I will keep uploading the next three parts next week. I also did the inner kora of Mount Kailash, yeah~~ Please kindly stay tuned.

In fact, the object of prayer in Buddhism is all sentient beings in the entire universe. But obviously in here Mt. Kailash , praying for the earth has a special meaning.

we went in 2007 - also 4 westerners and no buildings except a yurt. but the chance of a life time after a five year wait.

Sorry But Jains are not Hindu.. They don’t consider their self as Hindu. They are selfish. They tried to destroy Guru Dattatreya charan padukaa at girnaar and called that its neminath place. Even they put their foot every famous holy Hindu religion called that they are Jain place. Sorry but this is the reality of Jain.

What a beautiful & a holy place on earth, I am blessed watching ur video!! ..How can this pilgrimage/adventure be missed!! ....... Congrats for covering the whole trek on video and updating on the significance of the various stops/pilgrims u meet on the way.. Just cannot imagine locals Prostrating the whole trek .......this is not a joke, even when trekking itself is such a challenge. All those Prostrating for What? Seeking blessing for their family & Human Mankind as a whole!!, Large hearted , A very emotional touching gesture. This is especially relevant today as the world goes through a lot of upheavals b it Social/Economical/Physicals/Emotional along with all the Geopolitical challenges. I'm watching your Kailash yatra and feeling myself to be a pilgrim along with you. Tashi Delek, you are so fortunate and blessed person who gives us joy and peace in mind. I've seen a child also performed the holy cora with his/her family, young to elder persons. Inspite of hard trekking all of you were so inspired, energetic and joyful all happened by the blessings of Lord Shiva and Buddha. Pray to Almighty that every human being give up enemity in the name of religion, caste, creed, community etc and live a life enlightened by humanity.All are created by that supreme power, live like a human being and let others to live as yourself. I did this circumambulation in 2021 with a group of 20 American students of Khenchen Konchog Gyaltshen a Drikung Kagyu Lama. He had great strength and always led the way with all of us following. We had a great American tour leader who arranged Tibetans assisting us with our camping equipment and meals ready for us at the end of each day. It was the most memorable experience of my lifetime, and I will always be grateful for my Lama being with us and the yak I was unexpectedly able to ride up the Dromala pass when no one else did . At that time, there weren't many pilgrims or "tourists" on the Kora and there were no paved roads, but still, everyone we met on the way walkers , prostrators, and local monks showed true devotion and respect for where they were .

It takes 3 days? It’s supposed to have taken the people 3 days to walk around the base of the Tower of Babel as well.. 🤔 it’s supposed to be surrounded by a lot of salt and fresh water lakes or something to make the thing they need to make to build all what was needed , for the build of tower of bable. Bable was a Ziggurat, Kailash is one as well. Pyramid shaped building that reaches the heavens. You would be able to see all around you in every direction, a perfect place to build a mighty tower. Built on top of that Plateau . It’s said only 1/3 remains of bable after god stuck it down with earthquakes and fire . If you look on a satellite veiw of the surrounding land around its base , looked like it once could of been homes and buildings that have been destroyed the evidence of it being inhabited 500 years after the great flood. It most likely was destroyed about 150 years Or longer , ago. By the Military ..✌🏼
