this problem occurs for me only in winter, and its because the capacitors they're using nowadays not a good quality capacitors, and the solution im using is dropping the refresh rate to one which doesnt show those lines and gradually increasing the refresh rate until the lines disappear and the capacitors reaches the idle temperature (90Hz - 120Hz - 144Hz) it takes about 10 mins (and this problem can happen in new monitors too, so buying a new one isnt the right choice unless you live in all year cold weather)

I did this while i was blowing my hair and i fixed 2 problems at once, my hair and monitor thank you.

Sounds like you have corrosion on the connections at the edge of your tv. This happens from all forms of humidity & using liquids to clean your monitor.

That’s it a hair blower😳

I just turned all my monitor settings to max as it heats the monitor up by its self it works perfectly u just need to wait for it to heat up on its own

I used to use a hairdryer on my ps3 and a towel wrapped around it to keep the hot air and fair play it worked every time

Yeah this is actually happening to my monitor now, first i thought it might be the graphic card or motherboard then tried this and it works but right now its getting worst i have to do it every 2 or 4 minutes, is there away to fix this or just buy a new one.

those lines appears when the adhesive between the lcd screen and its flex cable wears/unsticks.

it doesn't cause any damage, the hair dryer's temperature isn't too high to melt the solder. And when the computer screen is active it is also very hot.

If your screen has the following issues then this method will work: + Horizontal lines or vertical lines when its cold, back to normal after a few minutes + Horizontal lines or vertical lines at high refesh rate like 144hz or higher, back to normal when the refresh rate is 60hz or lower. This method cannot be permanently repaired, the condition will get worse every day, and one day it will no longer be possible to fix it.

is this a video you can get the lines on your phone to ?

I always thought it was the data cable that’s physically contacting the pixel matrix on the side and bottom. I remember on my Virtual Boy having to actually remedy the glue soldering it to the circuit to make the pixel lines disappear. Wonder if a similar technique could work after opening up the monitor.

The thing is that there is a connector inside the tv, basically a ribbon cable that gets loose or contacts get dirty overtime, just unplug that and plug the ribbon back in after cleaning with alcohol and toothbrush, it should fix this

Mine just gets fixed when i use 60hz instead of 144, on 120hz the black bar goes down a little bit.

So its definitely the panel fault ? I was just getting ready to open my monitor (AOC 27G2 - has same Panda panel like your MSI monitor) and check the ribbon contacts or something. Yes I have the same problem since 2y ago - I created custom resolution 140Hz to fix it first time - next time 136 , 130 now it works on 110Hz or less only. Warming trick works (it gives you 5-10Hz extra but when it colls down - same problem. I need confirmation that its broken panel definitely and no trick (cutting CKV lines on the panel motherboard ) can fix it ?@@vinet4u

@@hekate342 you must have cleaned monitor with excess liquid, which trickles down to the lower panel. Any liquid water or mirror cleaners, etc
