I actually love active sky it is incredible i flew the fenix with active sky and it flew fine no issues

All these weather addons for MSFS are just METAR loaders intil MSFS release the weather API. The built-in Weather Engine in MSFS is really a true "weather engine" where it builds weather dynamically accross a huge area you can fly into and out of. The rest of these sadly are just METAR loaders.

Thanks for that. The biggest benefit I hope to get from AS is the removal of the benigning effect of low qnh conditions that Asobo do to make the game "manageable" by the majority of players. I want to have to manage wind sheer etc with the real jeopardy. So, its not so much the look, it is the impact I want. Thx

There was quite a hit on FPS in P3D - will this also apply in MSFS?

It was really down to all the cloud layers etc. and GPUs not being up to the job. So reduced viz would be a "cloud" around you for example. Todays GPUs will hammer it.

A320 sounds are default. The landing rate widget is from pro flow.

This seriously needs to be mandatory for the next game. I honestly don’t think they expected people to fly with realistic operations and stuff. I mean it take me maybe an hour before I get to the runway for takeoff because I take the time to load my plane as close to real life as possible.

This update destroyed the Fenix 😭 hope they fix it soon before I gotta go back to work again. Currently doing cross country flights with fbw and Fenix as well as Zibo and pmdg and this is stopping me from continuing 😅

When the Active Sky Team began development, MSFS weather was bad and in need of something like active sky. Unfortunately for the AS, microsoft was able to catch up while AS team was in development. At this point I feel it makes no sense to use anything other than MSFS built-in weather.

Well, according to what we have seen here today, MSFS always over dramatize the visuals and creates unrealistic seens. It looks good, but active sky seems more accurate. More testing to come.

Agreed. AS has always been an overly complicated thing, too. Way too many settings that few people really understood. I download Sofly and REX presets and use FlowPro to switch randomly throughout my flight. Or I use them as a template to make my own custom themes and load them whenever, directly from Flow.

Active Sky is useless. As long as Microsoft does not open the weather interface, multiple weather cells cannot be displayed at the same time. Therefore, you might as well fly with weather presets. It makes no difference.

That's actually not true based on what we saw during the first look stream. Active Sky seems to represent weather more accurately than MSFS. It has bugs, but I am not ready to shut it down yet. I will be doing more testing and reporting in due course.
