I'm excited to see what they will bring! Sounds very exciting if they lend support/expand initiatives/create new platforms and initiatives for such things. Between the man and his wife, they show interest for sports, empowerment, arts & culture, mental health, (& this I didn't know but she mentioned in the interview -) sustainability ... and they met all these young creatives during the campaign period. Very exciting if this is a preview of what they'd like to/choose to pursue as their area of interest in presidency Of course the flipside is, if its just talk I'll be very sad. Hahaha. Even as early as this ^ interview, I felt like "ok, as a young person I quite like what I hear but- for really or say only?!"

I still remember the first time I saw him as a rookie in Taman Jurong. "You can trust this man"

If Mr Tharman is our next PM, he can be PM for a long period. But president only - short period.

Not true. It is important to have a succession plan for a younger and more energetic leader to take over. PM job is much harder. As a President, he can serve at least 2 terms or a total of 12 years. He will be 78 by the end. I dont think it is healthy for Singapore or the government our PM to be beyond 70 years old. The stress level for PM is much higher.
