Hi Kitty, from which college did you pass MRCS Part B exam ? Is there any difference between passing rates among different colleges?

I sat mine with RCS England. Anecdotally some people reported that examiners at Edinburgh / Ireland were more friendly but the objective yearly analysis reported by the joint royal colleges didn’t find any difference in passing rates, so imo it doesn’t really matter! Just pick the one near your actual geographical region, or if you were particularly interested in their benefits…

Hi, good on you for attempting part B early on! If you haven't already do check out my other video where I shared what resources I used to study for my exam: kzread.info/dash/bejne/gJ-Y2NmJedWancY.html 2 months is probably quite tight for time if you haven't done a lot of revision so far; but if you have a good chunk of time to focus now (especially if you've got time off) it can still be doable. I would really focus on learning the knowledge components (i.e. anatomy, pathology, critical care) which are available in most books / question banks. With these stations if you don't know the answer you will just lose the points. Try to incorporate at least an hour of practicing physical examinations / taking a history with someone else with about 1-1.5 months left. PasstheMRCS has really good mock stations. These stations are more "soft" where your communication skills and structure of your history etc. can really make up a lot of the points required to pass. Also have a look at the MRCS Resource website (sites.google.com/site/mrcsresource ) and look at the "time management" tab; they have some good recommendations of what to do based on what your time availability is like. They also have access to some past questions and I highly recommend having a look at these and make sure you know the answers to the questions.

Will it make any difference if you do your MRCS part B from RCS England or RCS Edinburgh?? Because some people were talking about the same for MRCP exam and they said that if you appear from RCS England , you will get more opportunities and jobs. So is it true for MRCS as well ?

The exam is the exact same. Some people argue examiners are more friendly from Edinburgh than England but this is purely anecdotal and data from exam boards don’t find any difference between colleges’ passing rates. The only difference is access to their membership benefits - locations / libraries / events. Tbh I would just pick the college closest to where you are working. Doesn’t make a difference to jobs whatsoever as that is a separate national selection process.
