this show was FAR FAR FAR ahead of its time, its more in line with 2021 meme culture than with the lingering 90s humor that the mid 2000s were used to. Some of it literally didn't make sense the entire thing was a shitpost, the world was not ready......not even close. Still one of the funniest shows nick has ever put out. I would of been 9 or 10 but I remember how much I loved this show when it was airing.

I have very few memories of this show & the only thing that rang a bell was the two main characters themselves, for being the ugliest things I ever saw. Knowing the kid I was, I probably hated Mr. Meaty very much, but now these episodes seem almost funny in a morbid, random way. Still wouldn't like watching it now bc my distaste for gross-out humor remains, but I like how it finds new ways to make me go _"Wtf???"_ , credit where it's due.

Strongly agree cause I loved it when I was 10 and it was pretty great, now I definitely can see this as a major hit on paramount plus if they would've put more effort into the storyline cause the characters needs more development. Nickelodeon should've waited until now to have did that series

Crazy how that's the one memory everybody seems to have of this show. I remember watching it when I was younger and all I recall about this show in its entirety was being freaked out by that one episode.

Mr. Meaty always made me feel like I was watching something I wasn’t supposed to.

i remember i was pretty little when the show first came out (about 5/6ish). my mom took one look at that show and was like "no way you're watching that", so i don't remember a whole lot about the episodes talked about in the vid. but i remember wanting to watch the show so bad, and i was able to sneak an episode behind her back one time. it happened to be the nose zit episode. i remember being so disgusted by literally every aspect of that episode, and by the time i finished it, i no longer felt like i was missing out and never cared to see another episode ever again. i haven't thought about mr meaty in so many years, then this vid popped up and unlocked memories i didn't even know i had lol

I remember seeing a short for this show right after The Amanda Show and it scared me so much it made me cry. This was years before it actually became a full series so by the time it aired I was much braver and the episodes I saw weren't nearly as horrifying. But the time I first saw it, man I was NOT ready!

This show came when I was 6 and ended when I was 8 going on 9. I remember LOVING this show and thinking it was strange but still hilarious. I was six or seven when this show first aired. I didn't watch it much. I don't remember why, but I do remember actively avoiding when it came on sometimes. I think it creeped me out a little bit back then. I couldn't remember the details from any episode, but as soon as you mentioned "tapeworm" a flood of memories rushed in. Crazy how that happens. What a bizarre show. Great video.

I fucking remember this show! My family and I were watching nick and saw it late at night, and just had the most "wtf is this shit" experience ever. We treated it like a surreal horror short and loved the series. The whole experience is probably a huge reason why I enjoy surreal horror media as much as I do now, honestly.

That cannibalism bit was the most horrifying thing I've ever seen that's ostensibly child friendly.

This show freaked the fuck out of me as a kid.

I remember the DVD with the ‘SpongeBob Medieval episode’. Before the episodes, there was a trailer. It featured all of the different shows, only on Nick or Nick DVDs. During the trailer, it featured plenty of Nick shows and Nick Jr. shows- but I remember specifically one. The Mr. Meaty part. I remember just that showing up for about 10 seconds or less, but I remember it so specifically being the only one. Thank god I didn’t watch it until I was at a mature age or oh my god, I would’ve been petrified for life. I actually forgot the title one time so I had to look up “Puppet show about burger restaurant” and Mr. Meaty showed up. Memories instantly surged in my head. I watched a few episodes and.. yikes. That’s my experience with Mr. Meaty.

I wasn’t even sure if this was an actual show, or just a fever dream I had when I was 10

This show scared the hell out of me & still does. Terrifying 😭

I remember seeing commercials for the show back when it was coming out, and me and all five of my siblings, using the one brain cell we all share, collectively decided that this was weird and we weren't going to watch it.

This show basically is a fever dream to me, since I was very sick most of them time as a child but my brother loved this show and kept watching it while I was sick and trying to sleep on the couch. This show disturbed me and even haunted me in my nightmares.

I remember watching maybe a minute of this as a kid (don't remember what happened) and then changing the channel and making a conscious effort to avoid EVER having to watch that show ever again lmfao

As a Canadian, I can say with authority that most of our children's programming is simultaneously unbelievably bizarre and inescapably boring.

I accidentally watched this while high, and i can say with confidence that Nana's face crumpling and folding in on itself like a dying star while eating a lollipop was not actually Chill and Nice.

What you described at the beginning happened to me with the movie "the lost boy" where I faintly remembered him drinking blood and a few other small things and tried to look for the movie for years and when I found it I was just stunned.

This show triggers my fight or flight so intensely. Something about the way the puppets look - I think it’s the true to life skin tones combined with the squishyness of their movements and the general grossness of their design - makes them register in my brain as puppeteered corpses and it’s SO upsetting. I’m a big fan of weird/creepy art styles but this show does somethin to me on a very visceral level. Gross, dude.

I was always like “yeah i saw some of this show as a kid but i don’t remember it” but every new clip I’m like “oh god i remember that”

I remember kinda liking Mr. Meaty back in the day, and I remember liking the super uncanny, slightly distressing, surrealist style of the show. I remember Mr. Meaty, Courage the Cowardly Dog, and Invader Zim sparking my fascination with the gruesome, disturbing, and horrific. Also I fall into that group of 6-10 year olds that caught it early in the day

Guess i could say the same. This.. show on the other hand.. still has me with that tapeworm episode. Just now I'm realizing that maybe this episode was a reasons why i was so afraid of worms growing up. (Loved Invader Zim, Courage the cowardly dog, and Billy & Mandy tho)

When the nose falls off the girl, my mom was sitting right next to me. She told me I souldn't be watching this. I whole heartedly agreed.

Oh god i think my brain buried all the memories of this show deep inside but i’m rememering them now 😂

One time I was sleeping over at my grandma's house with all of my cousins, and for some reason I randomly woke up at like 3am and the first thing I saw was the mooch master episode of mr. meaty. I've been traumatized since.

This show made me uncomfortable as a child to the point I'd switch channels if my mom saw me watching it but by god if I wasn't hype as shit for new episodes

Omg what a horrifying throwback I just remembered that I watched the cannibalism episode when it aired and being like “oh my gosh” with my mouth open in shock with how disturbing the show was

So, Nanalan is interesting. There's a pub in Nova Scotia (Canada) that plays old VHS recorded tapes of that show on repeat during the late evenings. It's quite hilarious in that context with others.

This show traumatized me from the scene when one of them turns into a girl, the one where that girl eats her own fried hand, the tapeworm and the one where the girls nose literally gets burned off then replaced with a sausage. Thanks Nickelodeon.

Mr. Meaty is one of those shows I don’t remember very much but still smile when I think about it. The jingle, “Where friends meet to eat.. meat!” always sticks with me.

I probably only saw 2 episodes of this show as a kid, but i was obsessed bc it felt like rare media (it only came on at 2am by the time i was aware of it). The episode where his nose fell off remains in my brain vault and comes back every few months as i wonder why nobody talks about this show

I’m SO incredibly upset that this video reminded me of this show despite years of trying to bleach it from my memory

DUDE THAT'S WHERE MY FEAR OF PUPPETS BEGAN!! I hated that episode growing up and still to this day won't watch it.

i remember being about 3 or 4 when an episode was on the tv in my room and i ofc couldn't use a remote to change it. this memory has haunted me because i also couldn't open the door and i hid behind my dresser screaming and crying because the characters scared me so bad

The most memorable line in any TV show from my childhood is still when Wedgelor said "Ya didn't say I couldn't cheat." No idea why. Also, you didn't even mention how the main characters are literally copy-pastes from Drake and Josh, lol

Honestly love the whole gender burger thing being shown in a positive light. Idk, usually when a character changes gender it's shown in a way where they're unhappy or are only doing it for a reason, but here it's kijda nixe to see. Which isn't what I thought I'd say from watching this show as I only knew it as the cannibal/tapeworm puppet show.

This show introduced me to the concept of tapeworms and that episode has never left my brain

Jesus the theme song was like the telltale heart in my brain.
