Mr ibu is the father of comedy in Africa 😆😆😆😆

I don’t know how I got here but I love these Nigerian movies. There’s a couple things that I think are super unique and those are: 1) The music in these specific movies always have something to do with the characters or the plot (which is pretty neat in my opinion. Very unique). 2) It seems that in Nigeria everyone’s main reaction to something super positive or negative is to yell “AYYYY” which is super funny lol. And 3) It’s crazy how it shows how hard their daily life is in Nigeria. Even things such as running water, ovens, roads, electricity, bottled water, fast food, gas stations, super markets, etc are easily overlooked and taken for granted in the US because it is super common but it’s not like that in Nigeria. Mad props to my friends in Africa who live a happy life in such conditions. Y’all are super strong 💪

You're very funny. Who told you basic amenities are not in Nigeria? How can you conclude just by watching an old village Nigerian movie? Just like there are countryside in the States, there are countryside too in Nigeria. Only that we don't call it that. Go watch Nigeria city movies like "wedding party" and the rest, you will see everyone is not like what you're seeing here. Moreover, this particular movie is more that 15yrs ago.

@@Gaby_thee_bella This is my only evidence to come to my conclusion. This and “Pretty Liars”. It seemed that the majority of the footage in both films show lower quality of life as opposed to the US where we don’t have bagged water commonly and 99% of houses have ovens. Not saying there is anything wrong with Nigeria in anyway. I love the culture from what I’ve seen. I just feel that they should have the same commodities that I have.

Watching from Rwanda biggest fan of Mr Ibu

I owe it to my precious curiosity that I like different cultures and any type of arts they might have to offer. What often makes the movie good is quality, which means an overall aesthetic and actual quality of the film. I came across a similar movie yesterday that garnered more than 40 million views. It intensified my curiosity as to what makes it so good. I realized that some movies that are so bad could be quite entertaining. It's bad, but good nonetheless that it captivated my attention and the many others who apparently watched it, no matter how out-of-style, or poorly made it might be.
