Mr House and Ulysses Debate History

Ойындар

Before his confrontation with the Courier at the end of the Lonesome Road, Ulysses visits Mr. House, to warn him of his self-destructive philosophy.
These videos are written by me, and many of them are part of an ongoing, multiversal narrative that encompasses Fallout: New Vegas, BioShock, and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. If you would like any characters to be added to the cast, particularly from other video games, let me know in the comments and I will try to work it into the story.

Hmmm, This makes me wonder how Ulysses and Paarthurnax from Skyrim would converse. Both have or were willing to, commit horrendous atrocities in the name of their beliefs, and yet Ulysses, after his confrontation with the Courier, if he survives, holds his vigil, as Paarthurnax hold his, at the top of the mountain.

Can you do one where Joshua Graham debates Haytham Kenway on freedom and control. Obviously thats more of Haytham’s specialty but i feel like Joshua Graham would have something interesting to add given his experience with the NCR and the legion.

The only issue I have with this is that House is quite adamant throughout the game that he doesn't want to take freedom from people. He makes deals with others and wants people staying out of his way, but he doesn't intervene unless others threaten or attack him, even when others are acting as obstacles to what he wants or have something he desires. He's an Autocrat only of people who willingly enter into service with him, or join whatever oasis he and those with him have established.

@@totallynotabot12 They were quite open internally about wanting to raid New Vegas, take control of it, and kill House if he didn't submit (especially if you put Hardin in control). They also have a reputation around the Mojave for attacking any caravan that has technology they deem to be "in the wrong hands" (they are the first group Cass thinks of when she's figuring out who's been attacking the independent caravans). If I recall correctly, House also indicates that they've attacked his securitrons before. Given they are open about their tech-hording ideals, and the history of their methods (being associated with blowing of the Master due to the Vault Dweller, likewise being associated with blowing up the oil rig due to the Chosen One, and their New Vegas history of fighting the NCR due to tech disagreements & destroying a portion of the NCR's gold reserves), I'd say it makes sense for him to be adamant in demanding the destruction of the Brotherhood. Top it off with their hoarding ideals and disdain is probably him biting his tongue (and I doubt there's any reasonable way you could convince him to let you spare them - you could be their leader and he'd still demand you at least exile them from the Mojave).

I would love to see Mr. House get into a debate with X or Zero from the Megaman X series. X and Zero had spent their whole lives fighting non-stop, barely saving the world long enough so it could flourish with life after it had become a dystopian wasteland. For all of Mr. House's belief in control and machines being the answer to humanity's salvation in a ruined world, X and Zero have lived their whole lives seeing it utterly fail time and time again.

Ulysses always comes across as a sophist, using lots of metaphors and rhetorical flourish but ultimately never conveying his point clearly and staying vague to try and sound deep. It's very annoying to listen to for an extended point of time. I much prefer Mr House, at least he's trying to get an actual point across.
