You know, it could be a lot of chaos if Mr Blobby has invited Sooty and Sweep without any help from Richard or Soo. But despite that, having Mr Blobby around along with Basil Brush and friends from Rainbow (Zippy, George and Bungle) hijacking and interviewing is one of my favourite bits i've ever seen from This Morning, and that could be surprising if Basil Brush finally got voted for Christmas No. 1, the same goes to Blobby for his second time receiving it.

Bungle seemed very quiet here. Has he been ill? I think we all know that that isn't the real Mr Blobby and I don't think the real Mr Blobby has been seen on TV for a number of years now. Presumably these characters are now managed by the same company and this song was just to get them on TV and keep them relevant for a while longer. Probably cheaper to pay someone to dress as Bundle and Mr Blobby than to employ the real ones. A similar problem exists with Zippy. He was on Channel 4"s The Last Leg recently because it was said that presenter Josh Widdlecomb sounded like him. I wonder what the producers thought when they booked Zippy and a shiny yellow moon head turned up that not only didn't sound like Josh Widdlecomb but didn't sound or look like Zippy either.

As it happens, the Zippy that appeared on the last leg, was indeed the original Zippy, from the 70s. His puppeteer is STILL Ronnie Le Drew, who has been doing it for nearly 50 years. He had to take over the voice when poor old Roy Skelton died, which is why he may have sounded a little different. Ronnie also puppeteered Zippy for this very clip too!

And as for Mr Blobby, he was played by Paul Benson ever since his original role Barry Killerby left in 2015 as he decided to continue portraying his character after he found out about the costume being left in the storage and i guess he just wanted to get Blobby into his original low-pitched tone again as he did during his early years and not the silly high-pitched tone as Barry continued to do that until he stopped playing the character. (and yes, the change of Blobby's voice is quite noticeable.)
