    Awesome build, awesome machine. But soon you will regret not having spend the money for the enclosure. Also, I would highly recommend to put some kind of cable protection around those loose cables going from the Z-axis to the controller.

    Thanks for the tips! I finally had a chance to move the machine on Sunday, also relocate the control box to the front so the emergency stop is reachable and moved the monitor to the right side of the machine. Next video she’ll be neat and tidy. haven’t decided what I’m gonna do for the enclosure yet, I don’t like the idea of working through the doors, that said making parts chips and coolant go everywhere!

    That usb isolator should be there for back emf spikes. Control should have diode/cap/res for the same. Even manually pushing an axis all SHOULD be protected. Static and environmental EM can't be as ignored. If it just goes one day, know it could be as simple as some wind turns the whole building in to a balloon stuck to a kids head. Nerd time over! Think I can talk the boss in to buying me one for work. Gonna be paying attention to ourtube for updates.

    It's turned down, if I open up mine its like a fire hose. I think he did that so its not spraying everywhere since he is running without an enclosure.

    @Crivo152 @Mike Juzenas Mike is correct, at the very end of the video. I open the valve to 3/4 and blew the chips off the plate. mrMachinetx on the form has a video (kzread.info/dash/bejne/nJyT0a6DmMi2c9o.html) adding a Y, and connecting a garden hose if you'd like to see a visual, when I get some time, I'm going to add it to my machine and probably will do a video with a bunch of updates/mods.

    Man the two main points of contention for me are as follows. First the concrete seems like a future problem if ever needed to move the machine. And second, the Z axis has less than a foot of travel. That doesn't give any flexibility for tall parts or drilling projects. I am a machinist as a job and I cant imagine this is useful for much especially with the small spindle.

  • @worknplayusa

    @worknplayusa

    Жыл бұрын

    You are 100% right with the concrete, they have a preassembled option when you purchase, they’re having issues with the concrete and switching to epoxy granite. I‘m new to machining, show my knowledge and experience limits me more than the Z travel. Lol I’m going to make some parts videos in the future and maybe you can chime in as a experienced machinist.

    The flooded coolant kit should have a cheap plastic valve, that’s what I used originally but it felt like It always needed adjusting. I added a brass 1/4” valve I purchased at Harbor freight or Home Depot, they sell them cheap for air hoses
