    Very nice kit. The drawback is the front axle is too wide, the tires rub the inside of the body. Also be super careful putting the rear axle through the holes in the frame. pretty delicate.

    I've never built one but apparently as one person mentioned the engine is "universal" and choose your valve covers depending.

  • @teebird94
    @teebird94 Жыл бұрын

    MPC back in the day made a generic almost featureless engine block with multiple heads and such that was never accurate for either the Ford Mopar or Chevy engine,so whichever you build is fine.I had this and the Kalitta kits in my youth in the 70's and didnt realize back then the MPC funny car and nascar kits used generic multiuse engines..lol...I do now.

    @@sodakmodelcars It's fun,if you want accuracy you'll find the Polar Lights funny cars are far superior although the MPC body is nicer.Polar Lights body is kind of thick,if just for fun the MPC is an easier build.

    I'm planning on doing a Shirley Muldowney version. I assumed this would be the version to use as it was boxed as a Connie Kalitta car.

    @@sodakmodelcars Ya,her Mustang was hemi powered,Connie's Mustang previously was Boss 429 and Cammer powered until Ford pulled out of racing,the cammer was banned,and the Boss 429 nitro experiment was stopped.That's when all the Ford funnycars went to hemi power,GM followed suit with thiers amost immediate as the Rat was never competitive in funny cars really.
