He may look like a cross between Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Durante, but he's a superb musician, and clearly communicates with the Philharmoniker as if by magic. May they enjoy many years of concerts -- and recordings! -- together.

The very first record (LP) that I bought in my life was Mozart's Haffner Symphony! I first heard it when I was a student at the University of Utah oh so many years ago and the University of Utah Ballet performed to this music!! It remains my favorite of his symphonies to this day!! Marvelous recording by the Berliner Philharmoniker!!

this sounds sharp, lively, alert, brisk, rhythmical to a fault, happy, exultant, with some restrained euphoria.... mozart would have loved it. Sharp as mustard as we say in the UK. The Berlin Phil have always been incredible with mozart.... the reason of course is in their famous precision. I love the lot of them. Heavens they all sounded so alive!

In this symphony Mozart sounds like Haydn. A lot of energy and humour. maybe its the interpretation that sharped all the edges and went to the extremes. I have mixed feeilings about this one. But still I love Petrenko and his great sense of humour and dynamic control.

@@prager5046 My god the irony.. haha! You call someone else out on writing an idiotic comment on youtube? Take a good look at yourself pal! People are completly entitled to their own opinions, and if you don’t accept other people’s views on music, then you are the short sighted one, as i have seen you comment on others comments. Quite frankly, it is disgusting the way you say that somebody is ”clueless” for interpreting this symphony as energetic. Music is subjective and free, and if you don’t think so, then i must respectfully consider you short-sighted and clueless. Get a life, be more open to others, and learn simple manners - and i think the result will be benificial to you. You will not only succeed in your own dreams, you will also be more respected and cunning in music and - most important of all- life. Respectfully,

Would it kill them to give us the entire movement? It is of course amazingly executed but if it were merely a few ticks slower it would actually be more exciting, for we would then be more inclined to focus on the music per se rather than on , "How can they they do this?"
