Mozart. Piano Sonata No. 8, 1st Mvt. Imagine a 22-year old Mozart who has just moved to Paris, having severed ties with his father, and is struggling to make a living on his own. On top of this, his mother is dying. During this period, he writes the darkest of his sonatas - the only one that, up until this point, he has written in a minor key. While we don't have anything in Mozart's own words about the relationship between the sonata and his personal life, we can speculate that it is an outlet for the anger, grief, desperation, sadness and love he feels towards his mother. Losing both of his parents, Mozart's music takes the first steps of its departure from the musical world of his childhood, with uncharacteristic uses of tonality, tempo, rhythm, dynamic emphases and counterpoint. Hope you enjoy this beautiful performance by M Kumar, and hope your Thursday will be an excellent one ♥

You know something good is coming when two pieces in a row aren't performed by Rousseau
There are some parts that are interestingly similar to Piano Sonata No. 14 “Moonlight”, 3rd movement by Beethoven… For example, 1:37 is similar to the G-sharp minor section (second subject), but with block chords instead of the fast Alberti Bass and tremoli. Beginning at 7:04, the melody shifts to the left hand like in the F-sharp minor/ C-sharp minor development section. The left hand melody also appears later on just before the cadenza.

What will always impress me about Mozart is that he was always innovating, and pushing himself, creating new and better music. And in his short time on the earth he created over 600 pieces of music. Imagine what sort of pieces we would have gotten if he had lived longer, even another year. I believe if he was given more time he’d be the best of all time without contest and without rival. And despite that, in his short time he still managed to be one of if not still the best of all time

This is one of my favourite piano compositions from Mozart!
My love for Mozart is higher than the mountain and deeper than the sea In this performance, all is far superior splendor
Mozart: And to take my frustrations and sadness on this, this may be my eighth sonata... the music: 🪩 🕺
So rousseau levelled up. Not only growing hands now, he can multiply himself.
Nice, to see the fingers moving lively on the klaviatur and Mozart´s fantasy be printed on the keys of the piano in such a brilliant way!
Beautiful played. I could listen to it all day. Right before my meeting I heard this song for the first time and I am calm again. Thanks for putting so much effort in every video!

Due to several people claiming that whenever Mozart wrote a piece in minor key, it suddenly became unbeatable, mainly in G minor, I decided to gather all of his pieces in minor keys and publish over 70 works as a video! Guess what... Rumours are true! The video is called 'Mozart Complete Works in Minor keys' , enjoy it before it gets blocked!
Finally, been waiting over a year for this. One of my favourite Sonatas.
