Fantastic performance

Great singers! Most modern magic flute I have ever seen. But I like it.

I loved it! Thanks for sharing it here. The drei damen were fabulous, loved the scene. The sound quality on youtube is a bit lame though. Monostatos as a blackface was rather awkward ... Surely if the setting can be modern, so can Monostatos' appearance be updated ;-)

It's not the newest performance. I saw exactly his staging and performance with those artists about ten or more years ago. I totally forgot they blackfaced Monostatos... It hink they don't do it anymore

What the heck? That overture didn't sound like the Magic Flute I know. Harnoncourt is a world-renown Baroque conductor so I was curious how he'd interpret this Mozart. And what's the getup with the bride and groom. Was it the Magic Flute or Marriage of Figaro? I was not amused.

Please stop re-imagining operas in modern times. A large part of the enjoyment of these compositions is seeing the beautiful costumes and sets representing the eras in which they were originally conceived. The setting here for example is just plain boring, and the clothing looks ridiculous with this music.

The problem is that you see the opera in modern times. It is not possible to see the opera as it was in 1791.

Vous pouvez également payer pour youtube premium et regarder l’opéra sans publicité. De cette façon, les musiciens sont mieux rémunérait pour leur travail.

Эти современные постановки отбивают всю охоту смотреть оперу. Так испортить прекрасную музыку Моцарта могут только такие бездарные режиссеры. Вообще ,современные постановки,это какое то извращение.

What horrible staging and character interpretation…fin with modern here but this was horrible the queen if the night (from the sky) on the floor in the dark seduces g her possible son in law blind ladies - had to quit watching. travesty
