C'est tellement sympa de voir à quel point T. Guschlbauer est FAN de sa soliste
Tous les admirateurs de Natalie DESSAY savent que sortira quelque temps plus tard un enregistrement studio de quelques-uns des plus beaux airs de concert de Mozart par les mêmes interprètes. Ce sera, sauf erreur, le premiers disque soliste de la grande Natalie. C'était une belle époque.
Haven’t heard Natalie for a long time. Such a beautiful voice. The last I heard was that surgery was contemplated. How sad her voice was compromised. But we can still listen…..

Ah, Natalie at the top of her powers. "Popoli di Tessaglia" is so high that "low" Gs and Fs sound as low soprano Cs in other arias. And no one in the current generation could reach that high G so seemingly effortlessly and clean (and she embellishes the second ascent to the very end!). Too bad that after surgery she is no longer able to perform it.

Absolutely agree with you. She is my favorite light soprano. And those G6 ,😩😩

Even if she had never experienced vocal issues and undergone surgery, I doubt this piece would have still been in her repertoire at this point. After all, it does go to G above high C TWICE, and she's close to 60. That said, she still sings some operatic repertoire in concert, and recently sang a Handel aria where she demonstrated a nice high C#. Diana Damrau is only in her early 50's, and high C# no longer sounds like a comfortable note in her range.

Most women that have high G lose it by age 40. It may or may not be related to the surgery.
