Throw in an add-on load cell brake kit and two more wheel options and I’d take another look. Hopefully these sort of issues are just part of being a new company and not being able to release every conceivable thing, but I mean what is the point of that quick release without another wheel? i mean its ok... i cant be too excited about it, its a cheap DD and we all know that is always a good thing especially almost challenging belt and cog wheel prices; but this one looks like its cut too many corners off what makes a DD special, 5.5nm of torque is really really low for a DD, if i set my DD to 5.5nm it feels remarkably light and there is no wow factor left at all, its also clear where they are cutting corners to save money like having a 15bit encoder resolution, a peak on the moza website would have you believe its ''ultra high resolution'' but its one of if not the lowest resolution encoder being used in a DD (fanatec 16bit, simagic 18bit, simucube 22bit, simucube ultimate 24bit), what does that mean in reality, well 32768 steps per 360 degree turn which is HALF the resolution of a fanatec base at 16bit (65536 steps), simucube sport or pro at 22bit is over 4 million steps per revolution which should give some idea on outright resolution. i dont know, i think a DD should kind of be a buy once and it lasts you years kinda thing, i could see this being a temporary half step.

  • @ab8jeh

    @ab8jeh

    For many of us approaching middle age, this type of base is simply more practical if you don't have space for a rig and don't wish to get a divorce. It's so unbelievably small that it's so much easier to handle than even a CSL DD for example. I think with the smaller wheel radius the 5.5nm of torque will at least feel a little bit better. Resolution wise is where much of the savings have been made, but I don't think it cuts too many corners if you really don't have the space for a rig. Just my two penneth though.
