Good point. I’m starting to see the “grappling” aspect to running and catching hands (jip sao, jao sao). Cool video thanks.

Nice work my friend. I like your open mind. Keep experimenting. Creativity should be a cornerstone of ones training.

great video, inspired me! I'm also a ving tsun family member over here in Beijing. I think adding this grappling technique into training is positive. In my mind, Ving Tsun's trying to train to not have to get into this close distance with your opponent. But if your VT happen to not being able to end the fight at the perfect distance, this is what happens and we should at least know some basic moves then.

I wholeheartedly agree with what you wrote. My thoughts are you may not be able to master every martial arts you come across but that doesn't mean you have to be a novice either!😊👍🏽

Hidden? Lol it's a stand up grappling art... Grabbing, pulling, pressing, controlling is all grappling... Judo controls to throw Wing Chun controls to hit...

Well put my friend! So many people try to put Wing Chun in a striking box but I think the open mind practitioner should be able to use his or her kung fu skills however he or she pleases whether it's for throwing or punching!

@@kungfuoncommand4390 Ok but Wing Chun grappling isn't conventional grappling as was seen in the video... Most of that is inside Wing Chun's range and while you can call Wing Chun grappling or clinch fighting the moves and concepts are typically much different than wrestling moves or judo moves, etc... Wing Chun doesn't chase hands, and the attacking hand defends.

People often say that Wing Chun can't be used under pressure but they don't get it... Not everything in the system or any system can be used all the time... Even in Boxing a slip with a kidney shot can't be used all the time, nothing can... Some things are higher % and some things are lower %, sport fighting isn't the same as a street brawl and a street brawl isn't self defense...the differences are vital to understand... In Wing Chun the 1st form opens with what? A single punch... Sometimes that's all that's needed...and Wing Chun can never teach anyone to fight if they don't ever fight...(spar)...
