The Moxy NYC Downtown was perfect for what we were looking for - a relatively inexpensive (for New York City) hotel room as a home base for exploring around the city.
This was our first stay at a Moxy brand and we wouldn't hesitate to stay at another one in the right situation. As a brand, Moxy reminded us of an upscale hostel - very small private rooms and bathrooms but with a lot of communal lobby space. There was no traditional closet area in the room, but were lots of nifty uses of space but not sure there would be enough storage if you were staying a week and wanted to "unpack". There was also no desk in the room, but lots of comunal space in the lobby to work if needed.

You know these options are great when we are not in a mood to spend so much but at the same time wants comfortable stay with hygiene. Good job.

wow. this is awesome and not the sort of place you'd expect to find in NYC! Although I only have seriously grungy hotels to compare it to! Funky and modern and I am SO SOLD on the automatic blinds!
I'm pretty sure a cruise cabin might be bigger,🤣 but that's a cute room and amazing location! We would totally stay there! Great share!
I've heard of the Moxy brand of Marriott. Haven't stayed at one yet. Cozy enough room. Not large but I do enjoy the old style phone and the hanging chair. For the budget seems like a good deal given being in downtown NYC. Very clean. Lol first time I went to Europe was the first time I experienced a window from the room into the bathroom. I was like, "uh what the hell?" 😂.
Tiny is right. NYC sizes. The sliding picture to the bathroom is so weird. Cool phone.
Are the bathroom doors transparent. I wana take my sister to new york but i dont want to have keave the room everytime someone showers or uses the toilet

There was that little “peak thru” window from the shower but you could close that off so you couldn’t see into the shower from the main room. The shower had a clear door so someone couldn’t be in the shower and someone else on the toilet. But the entire bathroom had a solid barn style door that closed off. There wasn’t much sound insulation though if that’s something you are looking for. The room is TINY but great as a place to just sleep relatively inexpensively.
