That was really neat! Anyone notice on the high up drone shot near the end? It looks like they disturbed a deer. All you see is a sudden line forming from the upper left of the standing grass and making its way toward the bottom. Also, it's great to see how well disc and rotary mowers can completely cut the grass. As interesting as sickle mowers are to watch in action, I'm not convinced a sickle mower could have still cut that section of grass that was laid over. Great video!

@@oghuzkhan5117 that's too bad. It's hard to see in that tall grass. My dad was a wheat and barley farmer. I remember one time we were opening a field. Dad was harvesting along when all of a sudden, a big buck jumped out of the crop not far in front of him. The wheat is alot shorter but he never saw it until he was just feet away and it jumped and ran.

@@stephensaasen8589 You are right but we can prevent this. If you have a alarm pistol or if you live in USA and you have a gun permit, you can fire a couple of shots, to make sure that if a animal is hiding in the field it gets scared and run off. Its just sad when you know this kind of accidents happens, specially with birds who are trying to protect their eggs

@@oghuzkhan5117 it amazes me that people like you think you have all the answers. Considering the height of the grass and the seeming sanctuary it provided, I would hedge a bet that 1) the sound of such a gunshot would have been extremely muffled and 2) considering how much grass was surrounding the deer also, they most likely never would have left. It's very unfortunate that such a thing happened and contrary to the thinking of many people, farmers do make great attempts to avoid such harm to animals. Deer are not on the endangered list so the population will not be harmed.

The biggest issue is yah have to slow down to turn. Sudan grass is easy to cut because the rolls do most of the work pulling it through.

I like your video, it's very satisfying, but I want to see the next steps. Do you pick it up with a pick up trailer and then dump it into a silage pile? Or does it get tedded and bailed? I think this is going to feed cattle eventually but I want to see the next steps. Do you plant a cover crop after you pickup the sudan or is this land going to lay dormant until next year now?
