i also find it funny bc i’m from Mexico, and here, “chalupas” are a traditional food from the center region of the country

I also found it funny because in my language (Portuguese 🇧🇷) "chalupa" means small vessel

Oh man. I DO NOT miss college at all. I moved almost every semester because I had a really difficult time living with other people, all for different reasons. I know the reason why now, many years later, but it made for a very difficult college experience. I hope that you didn't lose anything to the trash that was difficult to replace or expensive. I am sorry that happened to you.
