Great video - an Aylesbury guide would be great too. It’s becoming a popular area amongst families.

I've lived in Reading all my life and have noticed in the last few years that Reading feels like a good town if you've got no children, own your own property and have a well paid job. If not than its abit of a bore and struggle. You get a lot of crime, most notably drug crime due to our geographical connections with London and the M4 and poverty. It has gone through a regeneration bringing in a vast array of shops, clubs and resturants, which the majority of us cannot afford. You have a lot of poverty here, as mentioned before drug cime and antisocial beahviour. There isn't a lot for kids or families here, growing up I saw so much enrichment aimed at kids and families closed down or out right stopped. So you have a lot of bored and impoverished kids hanging about with nothing to do but get into trouble. There are some lovely areas in and around the town for a price, parts of Woodley, up near Purley, Caversham and areas of calcot to name a few. But if you were to speak to the majority of the locals and those living around the area they'll tell you its a overpriced hell hole with a huge drug and poverty problem that the council tries to cover up with its regeneration in the town centre and various new build home projects no one can afford.

Thanks for your comment. Would you share what region would you recommend, not too far from London? For a young couple (IT leader and doctor) planing to have children in a couple of years.

Hello, what would you think of living in Woodley as a teenager ?
Video needs more pictures, videos, maps, etc. A lot of useful info, but not the most engaging to keep attention, 20k subs and 700 views isn't a great ratio (similar for other videos in this playlist)

Agreed. I stopped watching when I realised he wasn't actually going to show any maps or pictures highlighting the places he was talking about. Lots of names being dropped with no clarification. Very confusing video unless you're already familiar with the areas.
I have lived in Reading for over a year as a MA student. The only down side of Reading is its crime rate. I'm not saying that it is hight but it's not low either. Dope flows like the river Thames in Reading and i really hope this is brought under control as it is a shame to see a lovely town go down because of these crimes.

What crime though? Selling weed? Surely you can just not get involved? Or do you mean petty crime like muggingsm
Would you mind to tell me are there any power plant in Reading?

Whoops - sorry!
The average salary is NOT just over £4,000 month. It's more like £1,750 to £2,000 per month. Also, Reading is one of the most expensive places to live in the UK. I don't know where he got his information from, but it ain't accurate!
I'm really struggling with equating the narration and description on this video with the town of reading!. I'm in Reading right now and it's absolutely dreadful!. I'm in a pokey little hotel in the city centre which feels and looks like a cross between the Whitechapel district of London circa 1888 and the street scenes from Judge Dread !!. It's as rough as a Badgers backside. The whole town is littered with gin palaces populated by drunks , addicts, what looks like gangs of hookers, the streets are filthy, there's nowhere decent to eat and drink, I can't believe that a major town ib Royal Berkshire looks and feels like this? 😱. It's really, really appalling!!.
I'm from Reading and half of this information is not even close to correct lol
