Our family moved to Bartlesville from Minnesota and we love it. Democrats fully took over MN and we wanted cheaper living, more family time (we homeschool), a fully red state, and a stronger faith based Christian community. We are assimilating to the cultural values down here, and are proud to call Oklahoma our home.

I'm a recent CA transplant. I'm disabled (legally blind). I like it here but my wife hates it. I have a home that I could never afford in CA. And my rights aren't being trampled upon by lefty politicians. Not far from the Wichita mountains so it's pretty picturesque.

I was born in OKC, raised in Tulsa and left in 1987 for a job opportunity. Since then I have lived in 10 different cities. Graduated from OU. After all that I have lived in California large cities the longest and watched them deteriorate into the homeless, crazy political view state it has become. I long to move back to Oklahoma, especially Tulsa, a much more scenic, beautiful city than OKC and the cultural hub in Oklahoma for the arts and music although OKC has made tremendous strides revitalizing downtown and the acquisition of the NBA Thunder professional basketball team but so has Tulsa and it being a much prettier city makes me long to go back to the best of all the cities I have lived in.

I can't speak for Tulsa as I am not as familiar with that area, but I know that there is public transportation around the OKC metro. The majority of your bus stops are going to be in OKC, but you might be able to find a bus stop around the outskirts (specifically in Norman). I am currently helping two families move from Alaska, and I'd love to be able to work with you when you are ready for the move!

Property taxes in my area (OKC Metro) tend to hover around the 1% mark. As far as potholes, we definitely have some, but I don't think it's an extreme amount. I guess it's all based on what you're used to. For me, I have lived in a lot of places and the potholes are not something to me that sticks out too much.

@@KAZHE63 Insurance does tend to be high in Oklahoma due to the threat of weather. However, I think it's made up for in the lower cost of housing! Lived here like three years and didn't realize the roads here verses Arizona until I did training in Phoenix about a week ago. Man Arizona roads are well maintained. It does not matter if you are on the freeway (which have no tolls) or any city / county street. They really have that part of the state dialed in.
