London is by far one of the EASIEST Cities to get around in being a tourist. I have to say, I'm not big on cities but when I manage to find my way to London I quite enjoy it. Also being Australian sometimes when you're travelling England is a great place to cure a bit of homesickness. Many similarities in grocery stores etc

Hello Hannah. This is your Mum & Dad's friend from Manchester. Lovely video. Also looove your Vegas video. Just a comment on the London one about making friends. As you noted, not everyone will have a ready-made set of friends when moving to London. And everyone is not as socially engaging as you, undoubtedly picking new friends up left right and centre :-) I would suggest people moving somewhere new can meet people by doing voluntary work (win-win), doing an evening class (like minded people with similar interests), join a gym with classes or partake in another hobby. I actually made most of my good friends in Manchester when I had children. I am NOT however suggesting people have babies to make friends!!! Anyway great stuff, well done. Danielle x
This comes from someone who has lived and worked in London all his life. If you want some where cheap to eat, head to busy main roads where there are a lot of offices and a lot of restaurants (e.g. Upper Street). During the hours of 12:00-14:00 near enough all of them do a special lunch time deal where either some or all of their menu goes from £8-£20 down to a flat £5. (obviously to attract as many office staff in as possible when there is loads competition around them). It's allowed me to try out loads of places that would otherwise be out of my price range. Obviously doesn't help if you wan't to eat later in the day but worth doing anyways (also, if you stand on the left of the escalator or in the way of the barriers in the tube then it's your own fault for being knocked over, everyone for themselves when it comes to the tube)
Moving in London is tough! Spare room is great but it really is an spur of the moment decision when you get to the flat. You don't really have a chance to think it over. Most of the viewings are open viewings. I'd recommend getting there earlier than they say because it's pretty much first come first serve.

Tips for living in/visiting Melbourne (mostly around the CBD): - The rent is super super super expensive, I know people who've had to have 3 part time jobs to maintain their weekly rent. Make sure you live near a tram stop if you want to live around the city, it will make life so much easier. - For a quick, easy and cheap lunch that isn't complete crap, try going to the Vic Market and ordering a Borek - they're only $3 and really good portions for the price. - Don't go to starbucks for coffee, go to Gloria Jeans or a local cafe - tip: more than $4 for a small size is too expensive. - Keep in mind that everything is expensive in Melbourne but also, if you're foreign keep track of the conversion. - Indie places to shop that aren't to expensive are the classic Salvation Army op shops but also Savers - lifesavers - The transport passes/card is called Myki, transport isn't too expensive, the CBD tram called the city loop is a free zone, so you don't need to touch on, but if you're planning on going further outside of the city loop, make sure you touch on so you don't get booked once you're outside the city loop. Basically listen to the robot lady announcements on the tram. - Two art galleries you can visit are: National Gallery of Victoria, Australian Centre for Contemporary Art - Not everything in Australia is as close as it seems, there's no such thing as a day trip to Sydney or Brisbane, you have to fly those places (all though there is a train that goes to Sydney that takes basically the whole day). - St Kilda is kinda dodgy, but is still none-the-less a p cool beach to go to! - You can literally have 4 seasons in one day, I'm not just saying this, recently we set a national record of the most fluctuated day of weather. Quite a few times there have been days that started off as 2 degrees Celsius and peaked at 25. -Additionally do not underestimate the weather of Melbourne, it is definitely not all sunshine. - If you're hoping for a nice bush experience try out Warrandyte, it's about a 30-40 minute drive from the city in Melbourne's east and is a nice place to eat baked goods by the river a go for a good walk and also the cutest gimmicky shops. -Tip: Every first Saturday of the month they have a cute small market. -Kmart is where to buy cheap everything
This was such a great video! One of my favorite things about London was how easy it was to walk around and see everything! Between walking and the tube, it was SO easy to move about the city!
This was a really useful video! One thing I'd like to add for people wanting to move to London is that you don't have to live in central London to experience its perks. I live in a suburb of London with super easy tube and bus links into central london and a similar yet more relaxed atmosphere, which, though it's not exactly cheap, is more affordable and a great way to delve into the fast-paced London life but not get lost in it. Still, loved the video!
I moved to London from Madrid, Spain a year ago and to be honest, although the first three months were tough, now there's no other place I'd rather be. It's big, it makes me feel there are new thing to discover and learn every day. There is an incredible mix of cultures and that makes it so much more interesting. Also, one of the things I liked the most is how I can do whatever I want to do because there is infinite possibilities of doing ANYTHING (from jobs to courses). Be brave and you will not regret it.
I'm American and I've wanted to move to London literally my entire life, honestly, and I'm just kind of watching these types of videos and crying because I probably never will

I've always wanted to live in London too! It looks beautiful. American as well, but hey! The bridge between a dream and reality is hard work so we gotta work hard to get them $$$. That is if we're willing to work hard enough for it :)

I'm from London and live in London, yeah it's beautiful 😍 but I mean in places like Bethnal Green and that aren't nice anymore with all the chicken and chip shops everywhere you go (people who live in London will understand) but yeah.
she is one of the most natural you tubers have seen. Simple, straight to the point!
Love it: at 5:00, a motorcade goes by. Just a normal London day. And once upon a time, you'd happen to look up and see the silhouette of Concorde as it cruised towards Heathrow.
This was such a fun way to answer questions! I really enjoyed this Hannah!
I have been to London on a vacation and I absolutely loved it. Most of all, the people there are so incredibly friendly and willing to help you out with whatever you need help on :)
also, for any city, if you're going out have pre-drinks because it will be way cheaper and you have lots of fun before you're even out of the door.
This was such a creative Q&A! :)

Hi
This was great. V informative, honest, and lovely to watch!!
I lived in London for a summer 3 years ago. It was amazing! This video made me so nostalgic
I've been to London 4 or 5 times and got to perform there, which was a blast. And I love the architecture and just the historic feel of the place
this was great! thanks hannah
Love how upbeat you are!
I've been to London in July 2012 and I was surprised when I found out that moving around and buying stuff there was not as expensive as I thought it would be, the transport was certainly worth it! I paid 20pounds for a weekly travelpass and that was honestly a great deal because I used it a hell lot!
My advice for finding friends- if you sing, join a choir. If you act, join a theatre group. if you draw, find an art class. They'll be your entre social life because you all have a shared interest! x

This is an amazing video, I love how you filmed it and it answered a lot of the questions that I had! It reassured me a lot as I'm moving to London in September for University and it scares me how expensive it's going to be!

You are the best Hannah!!!!
Amazing video Hannah!! I'm probably moving to London for my internship and this video is gonna be my holy grail. Thank you so much.
Moving there in April.. can't wait
Ahh reminds me of when I moved to London from Canada when I was 19! It was the best experience of my life!

Hi
Great video!! I've lived in the suburbs all my life & for anyone considering London but find it too expensive try looking at places nearer the edges but with a tube station, it's marginally cheaper (although still pretty expensive), you get to escape the crowds of central when you get home but you can still easily travel around xxx
I've lived in London all my life, but this video was still really interesting to watch!
I love london. I have lived in suburban london all my life and I have just recently started studying just outside of st Paul's cathedral and it's great!

Loved this video! In complete honesty, moving to London would be my worst nightmare. Too busy, expensive etc. I've been many times and always feel exhausted when I go home back to the midlands. I want to move to a coastal city like Brighton and leave London as 'that crazy place that I visit sometimes and do fun stuff in'. It keeps it a special place rather than becoming my everyday. But I'm sure this was very helpful for those unlike myself. Great video Hannah! I'm glad you've found somewhere you love to live in. Everyone deserves that! xxx
Excellent advise! Well filmed and nicely presented.
This video is so great and helpful
Love the "you can't" bit about affordable housing. It's true! And one of the reasons I don't live in London. That said it might be sensible for me to move there, you know, for work and opportunities. We'll see. Good video :)
This was a really awesome video Hannah..thanks for sharing! :D
love this video! q&a's can be quite repetitive and this was a nice change to the usual stuff
This is genuinely is so helpful for me! September can't come sooner!
SOOO Helpful!!
I live in Michigan and I want to live in London after university, thank you for the video. I love your videos Hannah and you're so intelligent and such a pleasure
I'm moving to London in 3 months, I'm equally terrified and excited so this was so helpful thank you so much!
Beautiful video!
Great video!!
Thanks for the advices!!
YES! I was so excited to see this in my sub box! I hope to move to London some day and I always like to get some advise! 😊
I can't wait to move to London when I'm older. It's on my bucket list. I just love city's and I was blown away when I went there for the first time. It's also handy that I don't want to drink when I'm older, so that will be a good way to save money.
thank you so much for this video !
i'm moving to London in about six months and this was really helpful!
Great video. I am a Londoner myself and its my birthtown that will always be in my heart wherever I go. In the recent years, public transport has been vastly improved with new tube trains, buses as well as the London Overground Network. Although I no longer live in London. I still visit Acton regularly to meet up with my friends there and I was born in Acton as well. Here is a like from me.
This was very useful! I REALLY want to move there when I finish uni!
Great advice Hannah, I lived in London for uni and am looking to move back but not being there currently is proven to be a right struggle. As you say as soon as a decent/cheap room becomes available it is snapped up so quickly and it is so frustrating.
Thanks Hannah, I finishing uni in a few months, and then hopefully moving to london afterwards :) so these are really helpful
I gotta recommend Harrow - not too far out, good amenities, great for group renting. I shared a 3-bed semi with my wife & a housemate for a couple of years before we had kids, & I gotta say, life was good there.
SO HELPFUL! THANK YOU!!!!
this was so helpful! I'm going to be a first year undergrad in London next year so thanks for the great advice! :) X
Great video, I will be visiting london soon!
First of all awesome video format! Loved the scenery! Second of all I'm planning to move to London after i finish uni here in Italy so I found this video really really interesting! My sister lives in London and told me the same about rent so I guess it will be kinda hard to move but I'm still full of hope :) Great vid Hannah!
Thank yoooou perfect timing! I live in the tiiiniest village in Switzerland and soon I'll be moving to London. Haven't found a place to stay yet, but I'm sure everything's gonna work itself out eventually:)
Im moving to London late this month, so excited hope everything goes right 😙
I love this video :)
very simple and very informative, thank you...
I just found you, and i already love you! big thumbs up!
I thought this video was going to make me super sad as I am so incredibly eager to move to London after uni but also super scared that it won't be financially possible... BUUUT i actually enjoyed it! Great advice and also lovely to look at

You made this so interesting!! I really liked visiting London in December, and the uni course I want to do is only available in Lincoln or London (I live in Scotland) so I didn't even really consider it as a real option until now due to leaving my friends and money. Hmm you make a pretty convincing case.....
Hi, Hannah witton , m from India , I had a long way to go to London for a long time but could not possibly get it BUT The way you describe london city with detail and beautifuly i just I felt like I have traveled all over London, Thanx thak you so much
Brilliant advice!!
ENJOY IN LONDON!
Also Citymapper is your best friend when you're new in London. Seriously, it was so useful and still is.
This was such a great video, Hannah. I'd love to move to London, but equally I love it as somewhere to visit right now. :D Ahhh, this video made me miss it!
I lived in London ever since I was born, It's weird reconising every single place you filmed.
I liked the career tips! The more doors you knock on the luckier you get.
Wow great video! Covered sooo much stuff! I can want for that pesky night tube!! Londons a hard city to live but well worth it too!

This is so useful! I want to intern in either London, LA or New York next year and I've been saving up for a year now but I still feel like there's so much I need to prepare for that I can't figure out. I know London like my backpocket now, but LA and New York are still a mystery to me aah
