Girl, that’s is how I am feeling now. I just was to leave Canada. But I have a wife, 2 kids and mortgage. We are now seriously talking about leaving. @@DatMiSehTV hey you probably don't remember as you might be speaking to a whole lot of people. I got my TEFL/TESOL however I haven't applied b/c I want to work a little bit in the school system here in the USA as a regular teacher first. I want top pay when I go int'l because I' ve gained experience. Now my cousin recently gave me paper work of my great great grandparents, my great grand parents regarding our real estate in Jamaica. They paid nine pounds and shillings sounds like English currency. I have a copy of my grandmother's birth certificate faded who was the last generation who was born in 1899. The real estate paper work is from 1908. I know this may all sound crazy but do you think they would still be on record in Jamaica? I clearly have letters of their last will and Testament. They were from Kingston and Montego Bay. I cry everytime I look at their beautiful hand writings ✍️. I want dual citizenship myself. My grandmother and grandfather had my mom in Costa Rica. In which every black in Costa Rica are Jamaican descendants they went there to help build the Panama Canal and never returned home to Jamaica 🇯🇲. Sorry for this long emotional story!!

Had her own home in Jamaica and motor car. she was able to pay mortgage, meet car payment and put money in the bank doing one job. Even with two jobs she cant get back the life she had in Jamaica. My male friend working with the Federal Govt in Florida. Salary below what he earned in Jamaica and health insure benefits less than Jamaica. He is relying on rent from property in Jamaica to cover mortgage and living expenses in America. There are more failures abroad than we think just that people are embarrass to talk about them.

It's really weird how a lot of Jamaicans living in Jamaica are breaking their necks to go to the Western world for jobs and a better life, yet the people in the Western so called 1st World countries breaking their necks to live and retire in Jamaica. Both side want the other's life. Lived and grew in England, Jamaica and Canada, so I've seen both sides. It's amazing to hear the stories though. A lot of people running from Jamaica, but yet a lot are running towards Jamaica. It just shows you one persons' jungle is another person's paradise. Good wishes to you all. 🪂🪂🪂

Congrats my dear. I am coming to Jamaica but I had to be able to maintain myself. So I worked until I could obtain social security at age 62 which is the earliest I could with that amount the US government they will give me a penalty for doing it so early but I don’t care. Jamaica here I come. You are an inspiration to me. You are so brave. Thank you for sharing.

It always puzzles me when people say you are brave to move and live in another Country. Why brave? To live an independent life anywhere in the world. You start with the basics. A roof over your head and an income. You build from there. It helps if you already speak the language of the Country that you are going to. To me, BRAVE means you are ready to face and endure danger or pain; showing courage which I find to be a negative response.

New sub here, thank you for sharing your journey, I too am from Jamaican parents living, born in the Uk. Someone said on here you exist not live your life fully in the Uk and I would totally agree. day to day Discrimination is so real here. I do think that for a lot of people like me without a genuine support system back in JA moving there you could become a target to those who wish you harm. Would I move to JA .... not at this time due to the crime and research that shows expats are often targeted by criminals ... some are even family members. I will be following your journey and who knows this may show me a different perspective of live in JA. Good luck!😄
