We are a couple who are building our own home from the ground up in the mountains of West Virginia. After living near the city our entire lives we finally decided to sell it all, pack up our 3 kids and live in an RV on our 73 acres while building our own debt free, off-grid house and learning to live a more self-reliant life.
Our house build is documented entirely on our main channel "Wild Wonderful Off-Grid" and our family life vlogs can be found on our secondary channel "Wild Wonderful After Show"

It is always so hard to lose a great friend. Each dog I have adopted holds a special place in my heart, they are all family. One in particular, a Bull Terrier/ American Staffordshire mix, adopted me. He was my shadow for almost 10 years...he has been gone now for 11 years...and I find myself sobbing as I write this. They are all special. Each of them has a particular personality... Your pain and anguish will seem torturous at times. But you will heal. Your lives were made better by the love you shared. I wish you healing and love. Joe.
As a rescue home for sick and elderly dogs I feel your pain. The sense of loss is sometimes overwhelming and it leaves a scar on your soul. We currently have 7 fur babies and like all the others, regardless of how long they share their lives with us we will treasure the priceless memories. Its hard to not shed tears of sadness when they leave. We have learned after so many losses to shed tears of joy for the time (always too short) they spent with us. They made a difference in our lives. All we can hope is we made their lives more comfortable in the end. Losing a freind of any type is never easy. Our hearts go out to you. Be strong, visit happy memories, laugh and cry. they are never far away as they live in your heart. Hold your chest and smile. They are there.
All of us pet people know what you're going through Erin and yes we even shed tears for your broken heart. Love you guys, stay strong.
It's so nice seeing a man who is such a good dad and husband. I didn't have that in my childhood or my marriage. It is so beautiful to see.

Chuck will always be remembered for the smiles he brought to us. I know he was a beloved family member. Sending a super big hug.
I cried when I heard about Chicky. I cried again watching this video. I raised two chows who loved my youngest daughter's, they were killed one by one. I must say one of best breeds to protect your family. No need to train just give them love I assure you will be impressed to there loyalty. I loved Chicky.
It's so hard letting go of a furbaby no matter what age. They're leaving takes so much with them including a piece of your hearts. Just know he's always watching over you all and gives his official seal of approval...job well done.
Sweet Chucky - he lived a good life and was VERY loved. He'll watch over the place forever. Glad you kept him close by.

I've watched you from the beginning and Chucky was always there managing and supporting the construction and the family. It breaks our hearts that it was his time to cross over. There's not a dry eye in the house. We feel you😭. Just know he is watching over you and you will see him again one day on the other side. My prayers are with you.💔🐾🎆🥰💋

I am literally fighting through the tears to post this, So very sorry for your loss, through your videos you made it very clear the love you all had for Chuck, and the wonderful life he had with you, and it’s with that love, he will forever is smiling down on you
Very sorry about Chuck. You gave him a wonderful life. Your grass is coming in nicely and here's some advice. I admit that I'm not a landscaping professional but I have put in a lot of yards over the last 45 years and I recommend that this fall, like September, you over-seed it again. And maybe again next spring but use a spike aerator pulled behind a four-wheeler (so you poke some holes in the ground and yet not compact the soil with a heavy tractor or truck). You won't need to use a core aerator unless your soil gets very compacted over the years. And when you mow, do not cut too much off. Fescue grass likes to stay taller (keep it like 4" tall) than turf grasses. When you mow, don't cut more than 25-30% of the blade length off at one time because that tip of the grass blade is mostly water and not fibrous. If you cut too much of blade off, more of the blade will be fibrous and you'll build up thatch down at the grass base which will choke off the oxygen... unless you plan to rake up or somehow gather up your clippings. Another reason not to cut fescue too short is that more sun will reach the soil and encourage weed seeds to sprout. Taller (and thicker) grass will actually shade the soil and discourage weed seed from growing. I've learned all of this the hard way. Best of luck to your beautiful family!
Now I'm over here balling........it's so hard when we lose our pets!!! Everything is looking great!!!!
It was always the highlight of the video when Chuck came to inspect the job's, I always looked forward to seeing him, it always made me smile, I miss him myself, can't imagine how you guys feel, he was part of your family. Rest in peace Chuck.
I’m so sad to hear about Chuck. “It is amazing how much love and laughter they bring into our lives and even how much closer we become with each other because of them.” - John Grogan (Author, Marley & Me)
Really feel for you all, I was just as devastated when we lost our Lilly (longhaired dachshund) about 6 weeks ago, she was 7 and it took me a week to get over her, at least we still have her sister (Poppy) ❤❤❤😞
The beautiful sunset after the storm was like a new beginning after loss. It’s nice you can remember Chuck together as a family with so much love.
All our dogs that have passd over the years are buried with an almond tree in our-garden in the middle of France - our vet said this was a good way to remember them as you can talk to them as you wander round the garden - So you will never be without Chuckie a great character -
I'm really going to miss Chuck. He was a great supervisor, always happy, always at the ready. He looked just like a baby Zuul, and he was cute. When they make such a huge impact on your lives, you will never forget them.
Sorry for you loss of Chuck. I know how hard it is when a family member goes away. It´s really tuff and it takes time to go on. Love to you all.
It’s been a journey watching your family grow on your channel. And now a tear for Chuck. He’ll be waiting at the rainbow bridge.
I knew that this was coming from the last video but it was just heart breaking to watch and read the faces on this wonderful family. Don't be concerned about the delay...we certainly understand. Your place is looking so beautiful and I am happy for your progress and the joy it brings you. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Yes I jumped the gun on them a few weeks ago when the Wednesday video and the Sunday video didn't drop. So I sent a post on their last video asking if they were all right was worried something may have happened.but nope they were just a bit overwhelmed with school projects and work on properties so this time I said nope not dojng it LOL I just trusted they were busy and needed time to figure things out. I enjoy and envy their life they've built so much I guess I've really become attached and excited for the next video to pop up. They are quite the couple and family with all there critters being part of the family and show as well. Have a great day 🙏

The title told us everything. Chuckie was a great dog who lived a fantastic life. Losing our pets is traumatic. Life does get better.
From what I've seen and heard, Chuck gave you all as much love in return, I'm sure you will miss him, that's a natural part of life. God's speed
Every time I watch your videos, I always look forward to two things : hearing Ellie laugh, because it’s filled with pure innocence and wonder…and seeing Chuck. Chuck represents all that a good dog means to a family. Loyalty, unconditional acceptance, devoted companionship, good humor, the occasional odd smell and the willingness to be hugged almost brutally by small children. I knew when I saw the title of this video that both of those things were unlikely. Children are resilient when they’re young and I loved hearing your baby girl giggling with the ducks. The world needs more of that joyful enthusiasm. God Bless her! I’ve never felt so strongly about someone else’s pet, much less one I never actually met. I have lost a few really great dogs, it’s hard. And I cannot stress ‘hard’ nearly enough. My heart goes out to your family. May you find peace in this time of sorrow. Bless you, Chuck! You made a family, and a lot of their admiring fans, very happy while it was your season to do so.
