You are so so lucky that you're living in a proper apartment building with a door man and a lobby! You are so safe! Most people just out of college are not able to afford a luxury apartment building! Laundry in your own apartment and not having to go to a shared laundry room is awesome! Brands sending you apartment decor! You are living the dream!

As a fellow gal that just moved into a new apartment, night lights are a game changer! Sounds literally so stupid but just gives you peace of mind because you can see further than in the dark. Hope you’re loving BOS so far!

Jackie O'Brien this is exactly what I was going to comment. Night lights are game changer! Make u feel more comfortable and also great when u get up in the night for a drink or washroom bc u don’t have to jar yourself awake by turning on bright lights.

I just moved into a new apartment recently (on the south shore not far from Boston) and bought a box of led nightlight plug ins on amazon they are the best 👌🏼 strategically placed them in every room 🤣😅 -game changer

I lived in a two bed/two bath apartment with my friend. She left every weekend & even though there is a deadbolt on my door I was still paranoid someone was in my apartment. I literally would move my desk in front of my bedroom door every night until I finally realized that the Lord would protect me. I shouldn’t be scared. I still kept that deadbolt locked, but I wouldn’t move my desk. I just prayed for the anxiety and paranoia to go away and now I’m fine. It’s a new space in a new place. It’ll take some getting used to, but soon you’ll feel comfortable and not think twice! You got this!

Oh man I recommend getting in early on these attempts at friendship from your co-workers because the more you say no eventually they quit inviting.

Megan Powell 100% agree! One of the best things I did to make friends at my first job out of college was saying yes to every invite for the first 3 months. Now I have a great group of of friends that I adore 💛

Ugh I feel like a proud mom even though we are the same age lmao

The first night alone is the hardest but you adjust easily. Stay calm and talk to yourself.

A tip for produce is to keep a little white board on your fridge and when you go to the store write what produce/perishable foods you bought on it so you’re constantly reminded of what’s in your fridge and you remember to eat it!

Please do a work/business casual clothing haul! Or a "what you wear to work for a week" video :)

You can purchase some door/window alarms from Walmart. They make a noise every time one is opened! Also I’m so happy for you!! Your apartment is beautiful 💕

If your bedroom door does have one already, install a door knob with a lock! It seriously makes me feel so much safer when I’m alone because you can see your whole room and it adds a level of protection.

The Trader Joe’s in Burlington is way more chill than those in the city! You can always grab groceries on your way home from work

i feel u about the spooks when living alone. when i lived alone i tried to stay out in the living area as much as possible bc it helped me stay chill. i also had music/tv/a podcast playing like 99.9% of the time bc it made me feel more calm. you’ll get used to it ❣️

If your apt building is like mine, I would be careful posting the outside of your packages because they tend to write your apt # on them! Just for safety reasons since you are living alone 💗

I was thinking that when she was opening the amazon boxes. My apartment does that too, just make sure to turn the box or blur it out from now on!

I started living a lone about 2 years ago. At first it was weird but I love it now! Idk if I could live with a roommate again. Having your own space is so nice especially when you work fully time. I got a camera from Amazon that connects to my phone. It notifies you when there is movement. Definitely makes me feel a lot safer. It has different features so it can turn off and not record you when you are home. I use that feature bc I don't want to be video tapped haha then when I go to sleep I turn it on just incase. The camera isn't expensive and I highly recommend! Also an animal.. I have a dog and wouldn't be the same without her company. Good luck wit your new job!

No one understands how excited I get when Brooke posts vlogs like these. I am so glad I have found a great KZreadr that is the exact same age as me and doing the same things as me.

I like all the space you have left in the living & dining room area. It's very hard getting out of the house, but I'm pretty introverted & being home alone is so peaceful. Get yourself an alarm if it'll make you feel any better, but the first few nights are always a little nerve wracking in a new area/space but as you get settled in you'll get a better sense of your neighborhood & neighbors & you'll feel more comfortable.

can you maybe do a work GRWM once you get into the routine of things?! Congrats on everything :)

As an 18 year old who’s being living alone for about 8 months now my social life has become nonexistent. I constantly make excuses to not go out. I just felt like I was getting more depressed because I was so isolated. I focused too much on work and school and not enough on my own happiness. Make sure you’re making your happiness a priority!

Totally feel ya on being scared while living alone. I got a security system installed at my place so I can set that when I’m sleeping at night. It helps a lot with my anxiety. You’ll be fine though! :) it takes time

You will go through so many emotions for the next couple months brooke. This is SO real. You can do this. But yes, you do need to be around people and not be alone a ton or you will struggle because being alone is hard

I love how you love your parents and they’re always there to help ! ♥️♥️♥️

Get one of those bars that go under the door! I had one when i was alone and it helped me sleep knowing no one could open the door from the outside :)

So happy for you Brooke!! I'm not sure if you're a cat person but I would highly suggest getting a pet if you can. Cats are less maintenance and if you make sure to hang out with them at the shelter/pet store and make sure the personalities match they can be really sweet and it's so nice having a little friend to come home to! And you don't have to worry about leaving them to go to work or if you're only gone for a couple days. Just a thought! ❤️

I lock my bedroom door when I go to bed like even with the front door deadbolted lol. It helps me atleast!

A tip for the whole produce thing bc I'm seriously the same way! So, make a list on your phone and put a meal plan type of thing on it and set reminders so u know what you have!! And also, have a little white board in the kitchen and put what produce you have on it so you can easily see what you have and you won't forget to eat it bc lets be real... its a STRUGGLEEEEE

I LOVE those Koia drinks!! If you like the cacao/vanilla bean I would recommend the coconut almond, cinnamon horchata, or cold brew coffee one! (all are good but those are the best flavors imo)

Also get the “flint” roller it’s collapsible and i keep it in my purse!
