While in New York City I get invited to the premiere of "Happening" an adaptation of Annie Ernaux's eponymous novel, looking back on her experience with abortion when it was still illegal in France in the 1960s.
This film could not be more important today with what is going on in the USA. Before going to see the film I had no idea what it was about and the film shocked me (in a good way) to my core.
