    You're ghillies look outstanding, one thing missing is the canvas on the front and knees. Without the canvas, the ghillies and your flesh will quickly be shredded crossing rocky ground or dealing with thorns. Also, a good rule is to plan a route using defilade (depressions in the ground) and concealment (foliage or other things blocking the enemies view of you), by using that as much as possible you are able to make good time using a crouch or high crawl (hands and knees) most if not all of the way. Traveling a few hundred meters in the low crawl or sniper low crawl will make you hate life. I always employ one step above what I think is needed, so if I'm fairly certain I can get away with crouching, I use a high crawl. If I think I will be OK with a high crawl, I low crawl. That way I have a measure of insurance. Lastly, when stalking an enemy position, it's much better to have a fix on that position through the use of either a compass and terrain association or a GPS. That way you can move in on it without raising up to see re-fix (re-locate) the position, called "Turkey Necking" (which is what most Snipers are tagged out for during stalk phase of the school). Just my 2 cents, hope it helps. Staff Sergeant, US. Army, Combat Infantry Sniper, multiple tours

    Hello sir, I have seen you comment on a lot of these kind of videos. But I have a question for you as you seem to know a lot about this kind of stuff. I'm always concerned about my boots being kinda visible. As their is no 'real' camo there or something to break up the silhouette. Do you know a way to make the boots less visible or at least something to break up the silhouette? Thank you very much, and thanks for your service!

    You can use a burlap bag for each boot or use old leggings and make a mini ghillie for the boots

    ppl on the comments don't know what their talking about THIS IS A DEMONSTRATION of stalking techniques. YOU OBVIOUSLY HAVE TO SLOW THE MOVENT DOWN TO NOT BE AS OBSERAVLE probably a 2 to 3 inch movement every 2 to 5 seconds remember they are teaching you what the movements are supposed to look like so they HAVE TO SPEED IT UP if not the video would take A FUCKING DAY TO WACTH. great video guys your ghillies look great i would add grey twine because it does work out a bit but only a little here and their. :)

    In the first photo the guy to the left was in the wrong. Hiding on the side of the tree is called "Tree Cancer" it makes you look very unnatural, but I will admit, with that gillie suite It still made me question my self.

    real snipers move a lot slower than that because slower motion catches less attention than fast motion. These guys looked sloppy lol but I think the reason why they were doing it that fast is cus they were just showing the viewers how it's done.

  • @naggerburner
    @naggerburner9 жыл бұрын

    The idea behind stalking techniques is not to reduce total visibility, but rather to minimize your moving sound signature, especially in deciduous environments. You focus far too much on minimizing visibility, which is an intuitive skill for most marksmen. If you're well trained in how to camouflage yourself, a sentry should be able to walk almost on top of you without noticing your position, but being able to silently close in on said sentry is a true skill.

    after you added the jute to the ghillie you should 'break up' the ghillie this makes it appear more natural. This 'breaking up' is done by soaking the ghillie in water and then crawling through the mud. If you want a dark effect crawl through dark mud, If you want a light effect crawl through light sand. Repeat this 'soaking and crawling' about 3 times. Hope I have informed you enough with this.

    No, there is not. The only way is to either bring cutters and snip of every single twig that's in your way. (not recommanded this leaves a trail) BEST advice: Plan your stalk, Take a look at the surroundings that's the best way to plan your route without running into any anoying shrubs. And sometimes if you do you just have to go through. Stalking is suposed to be done very slowly so it doesn't really matter if the bushes slow you down ;)
