July 2018 -
Update on my method used to repair tooth gouges in Sax or Clarinet Mouthpieces. I also use this method to make a new black bite plate.
See my new web site at MojoMP.com for my rates and services.

Love these vids they’re amazing to watch
Beautiful work!!!
This was so interesting to watch It’s cool to see how this stuff happens
Very nice work !
Plexiglas is an acrylic.
I just watched your OTHER video on this. I posted a few questions there....
So it's similar to the superglue and granadilla dust technique for wood clarinets. Pretty neat. Does buffing improve the color match? I can still see the difference between the original material and the patch. I can't really tell by looking here if it's color or maybe surface finish. Still looks a heck of a lot better that the gouge.

loctite222ms Buffing does not change the color IMO. It just adds sheen.
Is the bite stronger after the repair? Will this have to be redone at some point?

The black repair acrylic is about the same hardness as most original bite plates. So it wears about the same. The pink DG material is softer. If the player’s teeth are sharp, the repair will need to be done again in the future unless they use a bite patch or UHMW tape to protect the area.
