Even though our curl pattern is entirely different ( I'm type 3 ) and I'm Afro Latina ( when I comb out my hair is a big curly Fro)... You have definitely help me figure out what flash drying is ( happening last night SMH) and how your hair is supposed to look with a conditioner that has soaked into your hair properly ( especially if you have medium to high porosity hair). Thanks, mamita! 😍😍😍... Also, your hair looks FABULOUS!

I bought the products and used then last night, This morning my fiance asked, "Where did you get those curls?" You KNOW that when a man notices your curls popping, you're on to something GREAT! Also, I tried your plopping method and it helped A LOT with volume!

Thanks for the review. I have been struggling with getting a part on the top of my front hair line and how to style it there so i like the way it looks. I'm playing with clipping a little but that wonky part or lack there of has been driving me nuts!.....until today! You said you used your brush to brush your hair back from your face in the front and it helps with making a part so i gave it a try and it worked! Thank you so much! Absolutely loving my results today using the techniques shared in your videos! Tried mousse gel mousse with the brush plopping for 5 minutes micro plop pixie defuse and hover defuse my roots. Yay! About 2 months in on my CG journey and i feel like I'm getting somewhere finally!

Hey Courtney...I'm loving your videos! You do such a great job putting them together and explaining all this curly girl stuff, lol. I had actually never heard of the curly girl method until I stumbled upon one of your videos where you were scrunching in product about two weeks ago. I have naturally wavy hair and have always just dried and curled it to style, or combed it out to let it dry naturally, primarily on weekends because it never looks that great using that method. So after watching your video I thought, hey, I have wavy hair, maybe I'll try using my air dry cream and light gel and see what happens. The next day I scrunched in those products with my hair flipped upside down and was AMAZED at the curls (I'm thinking 2a, 2b, and 2c) in my hair! I had no idea it could do that!! So thank you for introducing me to something new that can hopefully improve the health of my hair. I plan to get some of the products and items you have recommended in your videos. At this point, I have a really hard time not washing my hair everyday that I have to go out and about because it always ends up looking crazy the next day (not just kinda bad, but really funky shapes). I'm hoping the silk pillow case and maybe a silk scarf or one of the other items you suggested will help, but I'm wondering if I can still improve the health of my hair washing it 6 days a week. I'd love to hear your thoughts. And on a totally different note...I love your shirt and was wondering if you might share where you got it from. Thanks so much!

This is the first line i tried and i loved the conditioner as a cowash. I didnt really know what i was doing so i may go back to it to try again. I have my favorites tho. Moptop and moogoo to cowash with also like some jakeala products. I try for more natural ingredients but sometimes ill use the pink eco gel and ecos fruit cocktail cream because of consistency. Love your vids ❤

I use Curl Talk shampoo every other wash day, with Pineapple Curls Conditioner. My hair has a tendency to get over hydrated and when that happens it can take 8-12 hours for my hair to air dry. This shampoo has really helped cut down on my drying time and the keratin has helped to reduce split ends.

I don’t like the mousse which stays crunchy, even though I use only a little bit and scrunch the crunch, so I no longer use it. My hair is fine and thin. I’m going to add the 3in1 conditioner, but my regular shampoo & conditioner work fine. NYM’s Curl Talk line is affordable and easy to get: Target online. Thanks for trying it out in front of us.

I just discovered their Pink Lemonade and Coconut Super Antioxidant Mousse and it was amazing!!! I used it as a last step like you taught me with the open palm scrunch and my hair was the best it's ever been! I used it with leave in, Innersense I Create Volume lotion, plopped and then the mousse. Loved the results and had a super intense cast, but it scrunched out beautifully!

I have been watching your channel for several months now and always learn something from your new videos. My hair is way less stringy since watching you. Partly it is because I have learned to accept that my hair is wavy, not curly. Partly it is because of products suited for wavy hair, and the amount of product suited to fine hair. Super curly shoulder length hair is much longer than wavy shoulder length hair. Hence it needs less product. I have more successful wash days now than ever before. Thank you, Courtney.

It was hard to get it crunched out but I got 3 day hair! I normally am frizzy 2 hours after SOTC at best I get get 1 1/2 day hair and the rest of the week I'm in a bun. Would a wide tooth comb work just as well for all the things you use the brush for? Also, how does one know if any certain conditioner is ok to leave in your hair?

How long is too long to plop? I tried plopping for an hour before and my hair was still really wet after. Should I air dry more instead since I have high porosity hair? I'm about to try the 3 in 1 conditioner as a cowash soon.

Hey! 2 questions for you: 1/ how moisturising did you find the conditioner? 2/ Why didn't you try out the curl defining cream, have you previously tried it? I'm asking this because I felt like the cream acts more like leave in/moisturiser than a styling cream (say.... compared to Deva's Wave Maker). I get mover moisturised pretty easily, so I've held off on using the conditioner. I am planning to try the mousse and gel out without the cream sometime. Last 2 times I used these I had to rewash since my curls didn't last past day 1. :(

Thanks for this review! I've been really curious to see your experiences with this NYM line. My hair is 2A-2B low porosity, but all my waves turned into a giant tangly mess when I tried the Curl Talk line. 😬 I think it took 1/4 of a bottle of conditioner to get the knots out?

Have you tried the other NYM lines like the Tahitian one with Mango Butter? I have heard that one is good for wavy hair

How would you compare your Tshirt plop method to the new towel one? I like how the front turns out better with tshirt. Also find tshirt has better drying that is slower, yes, but more even. Towel causes me strange twisting in front and frizzy spots that dry funny.. SwavyCurlyCourtney, your thoughts?

Have you tried the NYM curl talk defining cream? We have very similar hair and I’d love to know if you’ve tried it. Leave-ins are often too moisturizing for me.

Would these products be a good start? I have fine/damage fine hair which doesn’t react very good to protein, coconut oil. Any suggestions with which products I should get?

I want to know your favorite wash day routine. I see you use many different products but which give the best results? Gels, mouses, creams, or custards ?

Whenever I use the curl talk mousse my hair is curlier but unfortunately it feels to producty and so stiff and really difficult to scrunch out the crunch

Still figuring out how to style my hair best for my hair type and weather and things. My hair loves the NYM Curl Talk shampoo and mousse but did not like the conditioner at all either... my hair would stay so tangled no matter how much I seemed to use!

Growing up and then having gone to cosmetology school we learn that “products” are not always the healthiest for your hair...the gels and moose and hair sprays and to stay away from them unless absolutely needed. I’ve been no poo and than low poo for years now so I do understand the ingredients list. So is this what makes using the misses and gels not bad for your hair and eliminating those ingredients from the products? I’d love to know if their are any super “natural” products that can be used for the curly girl method. I’m a bit crunchy and really try to stay away from buying tons of products. I already use low poo washes but I guess it’s all the other stuff. I saw your flax gel video but you said it doesn’t have much hold and you’d rather pair it with something. Is the reason why you’d pair things rather then just using one or the other that works?
