Those mits are gorgeous what a great idea. That jewel spun yarn is gorgeous, think I’d turn it into a cardigan. Have a lovely week love and hugs xx

Try sticking the stinky yarn in your freezer for a day or two, this has worked for me on a couple of occasions. I loved all the beautiful yarns you showed in your projects. The mitts and the cowl are so pretty.

Love your new fingerless mittens. What a clever "adjustment " you made! In my experience knitting doubts only grow ;-). Go with your gut feeling.

You're absolutely right! I've pulled the Poncho down and the yarn will be a cardigan. I've pulled a couple of other projects down as well! I've been in a frogging mood lol! X

So the cowl is absolutely breathtaking with the black. I love it. The mitts were very clever (you’re such a smarty pants). I need to remember to see if I ordered a full skein with the advent. Will you remind me to ask you please? 😂

Hi Mandy, I love the mittens and the idea of turning a sock pattern into a fingerless mitt. I've just finished a pair of vanilla mitts and struggle to get a tidy/non flaring stretchy bind off. Can you please tell us which bind off you used and if it's your own, share it please?? I'd love to make more mitts but am disenchanted with the (well known) bind off I used. Thanks darlin ❤ With the Sirdar Jewelspun poncho, can you adapt it to be a tabbard? Not nearly as restrictive...I got anxious just looking at the pic of the pattern!

I just used an ordinary "k1 pass it over" bind off. I find for mitts it's enough stretch from the ribbing and a stretchier bind off does, indeed, flare out. I've chosen a cardigan pattern for the Poncho wool. It makes more sense all ways round. I'll use a cardi way more! X

@@MousesMakes ok, thank you. I did try that but it was way tighter than the fabric and I could feel it when moving my fingers. I will try perhaps casting off with a bigger needle and see if that helps. I agree, a cardi is always a good idea! I crocheted a poncho (Attic24 Cowl Neck) and it turned out lovely and fit beautifully but it was a nope for me. Gave it away to someone who could bear it lol....and they're not warm even though I made it in pure wool. I'm a cardi gal, I'm working up the courage to try knitting my very first cardi...eeeks. I'm a sock knitter which is my utter love, I dabble in shawlettes (not font of bulky things... I'm fluffy enough lol) and a few other bits and pieces, but really want a couple (or more?) nice cardi's and vests/gilets/tanks...not sure what to call them these days. Give Poppy some loves from me xxx

Hi Mandy, another great podcast, thank you for filming for us. Sorry to hear about Poppy. Never worry about how long you have chatted for I love listening to you chatting away and telling us what you’ve been up to, you always make me smile and cheer me up. Your shhhh wool, I’m sure Tracey from wool and wishes had the same reaction on her neck and face. Shes making the Whitmoor sweater with a lovely pink colour which I wanted to copy, but now you’ve had the same reaction it’s put me off as I can be quite sensitive to some wool/acrylic yarns. Out of curiosity are you having the same problem with the other garment you’re knitting with it? Just wondering if it is just a bad batch of fabric? Be interesting if anyone else has had the same problem. Take care, hope the heat doesn’t make you poorly. Xxxx

Oh yes! So she did! No, I haven't noticed it with the tee I'm knitting, just the cardigan 🤔 And only in the evening. I wonder if it's not the yarn at all but something in the evening air?

Lovely mitts - definitely a great modification xx Your "smelly yarn" - is it worth skeining up a ball of it and giving it a wash/soak to see if the chemical smell goes? Hope it's usable xx
