Mounting an xTool Screen Printer Frame on an Xtool P2 CO2 laser
Фильм және анимация
My wife and I received our xTool screen printing multicolor kit a few days ago.
Although the kit it comes with fixtures to align frames when placed in the S1 and D1 lasers, we want to use it with our xTool P2 CO2 lasers.
This video shows how I am positioning the frames in the laser. By registering the frames on a set of pins, multiple screens can be aligned, one for each color.
The second goal of this configuration is to make it easy to exhaust the smoke that is generated when cutting the screen on the laser.

Thank you so much for this video! It was very helpful!
Great video. I’ve been looking for good information on using P2 with screen printer and found it here! Thanks
Thank you for doing all the leg work!! Super helpful
Just got my multicolour kit today for my P2 and was thinking very similar
Great info, thanks for putting it out.

I just push it left and to the back. I could also create some type of wedge lock to affix the tray, but so far have not found it necessary
i am at work and don’t have my frame. but i am making an alignment jig with pins? do you know the measurement between the center of 1 pin, to the center of the other alignment pin. thanks

The pins are 181mm center to center. And my pins measure 5.1mm in diameter

Xtool also has an xCS project for a P2 frame fixture that can be cut on the laser.

How many watts does a Co2 laser use?

I added a 1000 watt UPS to our demo room. I was not so much concerned about long outages, but I didn’t want a momentary power drop to shut down a running job. I did a little testing to see what power draw is for the P2 and the smoke purifier. P2 on idle ~70 watts P2 cutting at 100 percent power ~450 to 470 watts P2 job paused (fan running), or when waiting for exhaust to complete at end of job ~104 to 114 watts Smoke purifier 1/2 position (indicator aligned with red LED) ~120 watts Smoke purifier full power ~180 watts
Nice. You might consider adding a small air pump to increase the pressure inside the box to get better fume dispersion.
I ordered month ago and I never received it lol
