Mountain View High School Girl Makes History on her Football Team.

Спорт

Shelby Olson is a powerhouse to say the least. What started off as the schools first powderpuff game in years turned into a recruitment for Mountain View High School as head coach Bart Mayes noticed Olson and asked her to come try out for the football team. Soon enough Olson was out on the field and kicking for the mountain lions. Olson became the first girl to actually be able to play football for Mountain View High School. Sydney Wicker interviews Shelby about her experience and her journey as a football player. Catch all this and more on CTV Sports.

This helped me change my mind. If females can play on male teams then the males should be able to complete on the females’ teams. We should all congratulate that young man who is smashing all of the female swimming records.

  • @Wolverine607

Not a fair comparison. Females should only be allowed on male's teams if they can compete which some can even though there are far fewer. Men on average are stronger and more athletic but the keyword is an average not always!! The varsity football teams in high schools is for best players, not best male players or male only. Most of best players by far will be male, but there are exceptions and a female could break into it as men are usually stronger but not always stronger. With girls teams they are made so lots of girls can be on a tryout team as on average they are not as strong or athletic as men. So guys should not be allowed on all girls teams as guys can abuse the system and pretend to be too weak or not good enough and then just overtake the sport by using the on average 90% of time being stronger and overtake sport. If girls play on boys teams, there is no ability to abuse the system because girls are most of the time not as strong as guys, but some less common girls are so not a problem in that case unlike boys on girls teams.

@@jeremygabriel2421 No its not because men would overtake women's sports because they are stronger and more athletic on average. Since women are not as strong or athletic as men on average, they should be allowed on male's teams only if they can compete. There are too many men who could overtake the sport. But while most women cannot compete with men, there are the rare few who can, so they should not be disallowed just because they are female. There are lots of males who are worse than women who could be on all female teams. Problem is how do you prove which males are bad enough without them faking it to get an unfair advantage. The same is not true for females on male teams. But the female in question should have to be good enough to compete though not get special treatment just because they are a female. If it is a non tryout just anyone who wants to play league, then coed for all in that league.

Per President Biden's recent executive order, all he has to do is identify as a girl. Given that those born female can play on boy's teams Civil Rights Laws demand equality, again President Biden just made it so. The only option is that some states passed legislation to only allow a student to play in his/her birth gender, meaning what this girl does would violate state laws, and thus if they allow her, the State would be violating Federal Civil Rights Laws.

Point is that if there is only one team girls can play on it even if it is designated boys but if designated girls, boys can not play on it. when are we as a society going to realize that because girls mature at a minimum of 6 years earlier than boys that prepuberty it's .the boys that are the underdogs therefor it should be exspected that girls should outperform most boys. I wonder how long will it take before we stop calling socalled boy teams with girls on them boy teams instead of coed teams which they really are.
