At more than 40% complete, the work is in its peak phase. This project is unique because it involves the construction of the country’s first full-scale mountain tunnel, showcasing a noteworthy technology transfer aimed at training Filipino engineers and workers with no experience in this type of work. Funded through a Japanese yen loan, the Davao City Bypass Construction Project addresses increasing traffic, alleviates traffic congestion within the city, and enhances logistics in the largest economic zone of Mindanao centered around Davao City. Envisioned to contribute to the economic development of Mindanao, the 45-kilometer-long bypass connecting Sirawan in southern Davao City to Panabo City in the north will cut the travel time between the two regions in half, reducing it by around 50 minutes to less than an hour once complete. After forming the joint venture in October 2018, Shimizu bid on the project in May 2019. The construction plan and other parts of the joint venture’s proposal for the mountain tunnel received high marks from the Department of Public Works and Highways of the Philippines, leading to a notice of award in March 2020 to award the contract. The formal contract, valued at approximately 28.2 billion yen, was signed in October of the same year. Sa mga nagsasabi na puros luzon lang ang may malalaking projects at nakalimutan na po Mindanao, ito po pinakamahabang tunnel sa bansa, meron din yung mga pinaka mahahabang tulay sa bansa ang Panguil at Davao Samal bridge. Na parehong magiging mas mahaba pa sa Cebu-Cordova bridge.

Nagkaroon lang naman ng mga big projects sa Visayas at Mindanao sa panahon ni digong......tapos sa panahon ni bebe em binawasan ni tambaloslos ang budget sa Mindanao 😂 mas malaki pa nga kita ng Mindanao at ambag neto sa GDP kaysa sa Visayas pero mas maliit lang ang binibigay nilang budget sa Mindanao 😂

Basahin po nyo comment ko po, para po ito sa mga taga Mindanao na laging sinasabi walang projects sa Mindanao. Sang parte ba nito nagdrama dahil may project sa Mindanao. Kung mapapansin nyo marami sa mga comments po rito galing Luzon nagpapasalamat na may ganitong projects sa Mindanao pero pag sa Luzon ang balita maraming commenters sa Mindanao nagrereklamo na parang walang ginawa sa kanila. Yung tulay sa Marilog, Davao City na bumagsak last year habang ginagawa ay nakacontrata sa 2 Pinoy na kumpanya, ang O.G. Santos Construction and Bojus Sun Builders & Supply Corporation na parehong address ay sa Davao City. Yung tulay na ginagawa nang China ngayon sa Mindanao ay ang Davao-Samal Bridge na magiging pinaka mahabang tulay sa bansa pag natapos.
