Mountain biking Crockett Hills Regional Park
Спорт
Check out the full trail guide on my site: bk-xc.com/crockett-hills-regio...
Over the past 10 year the Crockett Hills have evolved from a few hellacious fire road climbs into the best purpose-built mountain bike singletrack in the East Bay.
Crockett, California is a small town just south of Vallejo.

Thanks so much Adam!
Thanks for the preview! From the Bay, grew up in Hercules, but live in the Portland area these days. Headed down for my cousin's wedding and driving my bikes in a week or so and had heard about this trail, but this video by far the best example I've seen so far of what I could expect and look forward to. Thanks!

+Bertrand Hui Awesome! Glad I could help. Have fun.
I lived out there back in 09 and my buddy and I found that trail, it was closed/blocked off and we used to use machetes to clear the trail every couple of weeks. I’m so glad they started fixing up that trail.
I rode this trail for the first time in September and I forgot which way I was supposed to go at the trailhead...I went right... that was a painful hike-a-bike hahaha. Going back to do it right with SJMTB group this weekend. Thanks for showcasing local trails Brian! You've got me out exploring Bay Area trails at least, even if I never ride outside CA.

Haha, good ole heart attack hill! Glad you're enjoying the videos
I rode this trail in July 2016, nearly identical route you took, and it's loads of fun. I would recommend to a friend and I'll be visiting again soon. I wish I had more time to ride the flow portions again, because of how many double there were. If it's your first time ride it smart, there is lots of potential to get a head of steam and case a jump or get bucked off the back. I would highly recommend lowering the seat plenty for that portion. We did get 2 ticks, but for riding in CA that's relatively common. Poison Oak was common along the 1st climb and last downhill/post tunnel (@10:30); again pretty common for MTB in CA hills. Sweet vid as always!

Thanks for the info, man!
Good laugh about all your woes including cow pats in your eyes but don't be discouraged, it's really fun. Love it.
Nice video, down hill single tracks look very flowy and fun. Ride on!

Thanks for watching! Yep, this trail is something special, so lucky to have it so close to home.
Glad I found you, your videos are awesome! We did some trail work a few days after you posted this. Cleared Sugar City, built a little berm on Tree Frog. Make sure to check it out!

Hahaha, nice!
I used to ride these and they were really good around 2016, but the cattle really messed them up last time I tried
My favorite ride! 👍

Nice!
Awesome vid! Maybe running a little less pressure in your fork/tires might help with the bumpiness when riding areas damaged by the cattle?

Definitely a good call. And after riding that Bronson that felt so soft I want to get my bike dialed in that way.
i just rode this on 9/13/20....super big drought....worst fire season on record. This is the polar opposite. Nothing was green on the trail. Ashe was on all the spider webs. Super surreal.
Happen to have a link to your route on Strava?
I notice you don't have any videos of Lime Ridge in Concord. It's not on Trailforks or MTB Project, but it's definitely worth a ride if you haven't been out there yet. And give a shout out if you want to try some third person views or just want someone to ride with.

Yeah, I don't think I've ever explored Lime Ridge. Definitely Shell Ridge and parts of Diablo. Shoot me an email (it's on my channel's about page) and let's try to get something going!
Left, Straight, Right, Straight, Tunnel, Straight, Right, Gate, Left (FR), Left, Left, Right, Gate (Retrace), Tunnel (Easy Gear After), Left (At Split), Left (Back to Car) Awesome, thank you much!
How is your broken hand with riding? Does it get sore or ache? When I ride mine start to ache a real good after about an hour. Don't think its my riding position since I'm very comfortable. Also watching you go over the cow prints made them hurt LOL

My hand has healed up quite nicely and I don't even think about it anymore. I don't have the same range of motion in my right hand, but that's about it. It's the back of my hand where it meets the wrist, a weird spot. Got back on the bike soon after and it never slowed me down, luckily.

That's fortunate! Come to think of it I think my problem with my wrist is I crashed hard a few years ago and was out of action for months and not being able to walk for weeks. But now getting back on a bike has been awesome and I'm rediscovering my love for it through the likes of YT channels like yours. Keep that good content rolling my friend!

+Sigint One I can't imagine not being able to walk, that's great you're doing better. Keep the fire burning, brother! There's a big ass world out there to explore.
The poison oak here is nuts, all avoidable just have to keep an eye out constantly! Love riding there though...

Even less thumbs on top now, starting to get out of the habit. I hate ticks, when they get burrowed in they hurt like hell.

Mountain Lions are pretty elusive. I think if you see one it will only be because it is hunting you.
