Mount Rinjani 3D2N from Sembalun to Torean
This was my timeline during the multi-day hike.
If you are using this timeline as a guide, kindly adjust it to your fitness levels accordingly. I am not super fit, but I do hike and exercise regularly. I am also used to hiking in the rain and in the dark.
DAY 1 (9 km)
Trailhead to Pos 2 (5 km): 90 mins
Lunch break: Almost 2 hours
Pos 2 to Pelawangan Sembalun (4 km): 2 hrs 30 mins
DAY 2 (11 km)
Campsite to Summit (4 km): 4 hrs 15 mins
Summit to Campsite (4 km): 2 hours
Pelawangan to Danau (3 km): 3 hours
DAY 3 (15 km)
Danau to Lunch Site: 2 hrs 30 mins
Lunch break: Almost 2 hours
Lunch Site to Pos Ojek: 2 hrs 30 mins
Pos Ojek to Torean: 15 mins (ojek ride)
Total distance: 35 km

It's been a long time since I went to the mountain, the last time was at Mount Andong in Central Java, the beauty of the mountain was extraordinary, so I missed capturing the atmosphere on the mountain.
The diversity and richness of culture makes Indonesia a very beautiful country. please visit or travel in the exotic nature of the archipelago.

Nice work! I assume you used Insta360 to record the whole trip, cmiiw. How did you maximize the usage of the limited insta360 battery storage and managed to reccord all the important footages? Did you bring a powerbank?

I did not record the entire time. Just important and interesting parts of the hike (i.e ladder climb etc). I have an extra battery and I brought my powerbank along. I hope that helps 😊

Semestinya saya akan kembali ke Indonesia untuk mendaki. Tetapi cukup lah sekali sahaja untuk Rinjani 😂
the dry season iscoming in indonesia.. and trust me when google said 33 degrees Celcius is totally lie.. its gonna feel so hot

Hi. I used Insta360 One RS camera. The lenses I have are the 360 lens (day 1) and Leica wide angle (day 2 and day 3). If I want to free up my hands for hiking, I put the camera on a neck mount.

@@fayeoutdoors thank you! I thought you mounted it on your head or something because there were times when you looked up before climbing, the camera moved looking up too, or if you looked sideways too

You should bring oxygen can i think, that's available in every drugs store/Apotek in Indonesia. I was also experience hard breathing when i was hiking on Mt Lawu in Java, lucky my friend already prepare to bring it if not i might be collapsed at that time 😂

The brand and the types of trekking layering to and from summit you used? Also what kind of trekking shoes used? Any suggest what types to use? Pls share. Thank you

For layering, I wore a quickdry long sleeve shirt as base layer, then a hard shell hoodie jacket. I brought my emergency blanket and raincoat for additional layer if needed. After sunrise, the temp will not be so cold. For shoes, I wore Altra Lone Peak all weather boots but you can wear any hiking shoes/boots. Gaiters are highly recommended. For poles, I used aluminium ones by Mobi Garden. Just make sure the poles you use are adjustable in length. You need the poles shorter for ascent and longer for descent.

I didn't mean to be evil, but I'm laughing at the end of the video watching you guys groaning trying to get off the pickup truck. I'm Indonesian. I've been to Bali many times but have never been to Lombok. But even if I get to go to Lombok, I don't think I have what it takes to hike the Rinjani. Btw, It was wise to use local ojek at the end. Welldone

Most of the water was provided by the porters which they have boiled beforehand. On the occasion that I have to refill water myself, I used my filter.

Dear good people, please DO NOT take the ojek ride motorcycle from the basecamp up to post 2 unless it's emergency situation. The ojek will erode and damage the trail, and it would be very troublesome to walk on for other hikers. With all due respect, if you don't feel like walking, then don't go to the mountains. Conserve Nature.
