Mount Lofty Botanic Gardens is 18 kms from Adelaide in the Adelaide Hills and covers 97 hectares of land, It opened to the public in 1977.
1983 - Ash Wednesday fire destroyed half the garden. A State Government grant assisted in the reconstruction process.
Further additions of plants and development of the park have occurred over time.
