Being face to face with Fuji-San has been one of the most important moments of my life and made me burst into tears like a child. I crossed the world only to see it, and I'd do it again.

Fuji-san was visible from my home in Usihama on all clear days for the eight years I called that part of Fussa-machi home. At a distance of about 30 miles it was an awesome presence. I never tired of looking at it. The eternal mountain.
