MOUNT BEERWAH SUMMIT HIKE | VLOG

The highest of the Glass House Mountains, MOUNT BEERWAH stands 554m tall with some absolutely incredible views from the peak!
The hike took me about 4hrs round trip to the summit, with plenty of stops to soak up the views!

Great vid. When I was younger (in my teens, early 20's) we would drive up there and hike up the hill at night (yes we were crazy) and camp in the overhang section of the climb (there was no falling rock warnings back then). We would wake in the morning to early climbers and rock climbers hanging over our heads. Good times. I remember having a friend at the time panic after making it up the first bit and wanting to stop there until morning but we got her up the hill. Only ever climbed it once during daylight ours and have gone down in the slight wet which was a little sketchy but a great climb none the less. Thanks once again

Thanks for pricking my memory of my climb as a fit 31 year old back in 1972 which was spoiled somewhat by an attacking eagle on the summit. I agree its always harder coming down, especially with loose stuff. Great footage enjoyed by this old bugger thanks to U Tube. My old 35 mm colour slides just don't cut it anymore. 😁

Nice work man, i did it for the first time today, far out it was intense!! But i think if i saw this first i probably wouldn't have done it hahaha. Had a couple of moments at the beginning where i was starting to freak a little bit and was thinking of bailing but i'm glad i pushed on. I used TX4 approach shoes which were fantastic, and found the downward trip heaps easier and quicker than going up. I too still have all my teeth thank goodness!

Nice work climbing up Mount Beerwah, good on you!! I always thought it was the most difficult Glasshouse. Also good on you for helping the other climbers who were having a hard time, I'm assuming you did that so nice. I think you should find Tibrogargan easier, if you climbed Beerwah first I think that's the hardest mountain done! The first part has an alternate route far to the left which doesn't require that first steep encounter!

I did hear that there was a “goat track” off to the left? I did my best with the guy near the top. I sat with him for 10min until he was ready to keep charging upwards. Good one the bloke for pushing himself to the limits I say! 🙌🏼

Just did Mt Beerwah today. The chicken run scramble is the kind of thing I froth and call home. How does it compare to Mt Barney East Ridge in terms of most sketchy parts to freeclimb? Tossing up between a Mt Barney Logan & Mt Barney East route solo day trip.

@@jacksmith3386 I ended up doing East Ridge. My thoughts were the climb is long but not too many scrambles unless you go a little off track and pave your own way up (which I did). I did get lost on a different ridge for 1-2 hours on the way down after taking way too many 'shortcuts'........ Started at 12, reached summit around 3pm, finished at 7pm. Thankfully I gunned it up so I didn't have to descend too long in the dark. Would recommend bringing a torch/saving phone battery and using some GPS capture such as Strava. The proper path is quite hidden/subtle. Bush-bashing is fun and all, but getting to the bottom of the mountain surrounded by bush and not knowing how to get to your car isn't lol. Found my route again realizing I could just back track the steps recorded on Strava. Hopefully that gives you a little insight. When I eventually do Logan, I'll share my experience.
