I actually prefer the flat paint of the blue figure!

Great review on both! For me, without the Filmation sculpted head, blue Hordak is subpar to the vintage one. I'm a huge Hordak fan of both incarnations, Mattel really dropped the ball on that one.

I really like how you've upped the ante Glenn. A new video everyday - they're all interesting, fun to watch and still honest and non-butt licking! Keep moving forward :)

Many of the Evil Horde figures were in development while he cartoon was in development. Some changes happened in the design in two separate locations. The Horde was going to be new He-Man villains, but since She-Ra was in development and the her toys didn't really have bad guys the Horde was just dumped into that cartoon.

***** Hordak was a new villian for He-Man. The girls toy line didn't have a true bad-guy. The Animation company used the new He-Man villain for She-Ra because you need conflict in a story and the He-Man show was over.

Great comparison, I agree with every word. I love the colours on the new blue one but I think it's little things like the staff not having paint apps and the face not looking right that make the grey one better. I do really like the cannon arm though.

Never watched the cartoon me'self but I think the grey one looks more menacing but the blue one seems pretty awesome too. A blue version with a cape and armour would be cool I think.

I'm not really interested in Hordak but I enjoy this review because Glenn sounds really good comparing the 2 figures making the figure sounds interesting XD

Now that they bought the filmations rights I hope that they come out with a toy line that looks just like the ones in the cartoon!

Good review. I grew up in watching the 80's MOTU & POP cartoons, & I prefer gray Hordak over the blue one. That blue reminds me too much of Smurfs & he looks more sinister in gray. I also prefer the "pale skin" Evelyn over her classic "yellow skin" incarnation. Some characters look better without all that bright coloration....especially villains. And the cardback explanation may seem a bit desperate, however, it does make sense (since Etheria would probably have "bright magic") & at least they made an attempt to explain away the situation to fans, which shows some fan loyalty.

Oh looky here, awesome to see you getting SDCC stuff. Think you'll ever get any of those SDCC MLs one day? As for which one is better, grey Hordak only because of the better details on him.

Grey Hordak came out before the cartoon Also I think they didn't do cartoon accurate sculpt because they'd probably do it later like they did with skeleton and Herman cartoon versions I always thought robotic and comedic Hordak was weird considering he's designed like a vampire

Glenn Webb . . Hello Kitty figures about I love watching the show but action figures I love collecting x-ray for the longest time without a great idea who wrote out but I did

I actually like the skeleton face of the blue one and the more cartoon look. So i'd p[ick that one over the other. However Just s you said Glenn there is not enough changed in the new mold at all. So there is nothing that exciting about this one compared to the old one, too actually hunt for it lol. So to me, I'm more than happy with my old one, but If I had to do it over again lol...Think I would have gone with this blue.

Glenn Webb I think what made Thundercats tolerable was the Mum-ra. If it wasn't for the strong villain, I don't think I could ever have gotten into it.

They dropped the ball with the face, getting rid of the sharp angles. Still prefer the old 80's action figurine over the two new ones.
