The greatest song writing team ever. The late and the great Lamont Dozier was a genius. Thank you brotha for all the great songs that you wrote when I was growing up it helped me grow up. And thank for all the great songs that I played and still playing over the airwaves, for the past 40 years. RIP in brotha. I will continue to play your great songs on my internet radio show Classic Soul and The Doowoop Hour me The Masterblaster.

He was one of the great songwriters of the 20th Century, and one-third of the writing team that helped bring fame to Motown. We are sad to report the passing of the great Lamont Dozier at age 81. His passing was reported on social media by his son, Lamont Dozier, Jr, and comes just a little over a year after the death of his wife and business partner, Barbara Dozier. Died on August 8, 2022 (aged 81) near Scottsdale, Arizona. Dozier was an inductee in both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriter's Hall of Fame. As part of the iconic songwriting team of Holland-Dozier-Holland, he wrote over fifty #1 hits for such artists as the Supremes, The Isley Brothers, the Four Tops, Marvin Gaye and many others. The smashes included "Baby I Need Your Loving" and “Reach Out I’ll Be There” by the Four Tops, "Baby Love," “Where Did Our Love Go” and “You Can’t Hurry Love” by The Supremes, “How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You) by Marvin Gaye and many more. Born, raised and STILL living in metro Detroit at 61 and was brought up on Motown. Maaaaaan, I'm tellin' you......getting older and watching your loved ones, friends, peers and FANTASTICALLY TALENTED ARTISTS who gave you SO much joy throughout your life die is unbelievably HARD. Last year it was Mary Wilson and this year, just a week ago Olivia Newton John at only 73 and now Lamont Dozier. I know we all gotta' go sometime, but 99% of the time that knowledge doesn't make the reality ANY easier AT ALL.
