I like these guys. Motorweek has been one of the few car reviewers that strictly give consumers the facts without a lot of biasness.

Just got it yesterday,,the best car I have ever own by far, it drives beautifully, feels more solid like those German cars, and the low cost of use is icing on the cake. This one is a keeper. GAS are going up..and Prius are getting a better look,,more the reason to buy one. Also,,it's faster than you think. Just step on it,,you'll see.

The best prius Toyota made

This car is great especially in these times when gas prices are estimated to reach $5 a gallon !

10+ years later and these are still on the road, some even having 400k miles on em and still going strong

When looking at the Prius, there's really very little to complain about. It's comfortable, easy to drive, has decent space for cargo and passenger, and, of course, fuel efficient. However, it is an absolute bore to drive. With it's comfortable seats and no thrills, one can easily fall asleep at the wheel.

I have a 2007 model and it runs like new. Its quieter at the light than my lexus and it fits my mountain bike in the cabin. ah i love this car. 2010 must be a gem!

one little flaw in your comment, the base prius c is 19k and the base Volt is 42k. huge diff imo.

Ha! I love Motor Week. Every show looks like it was filmed in 1991. Anyway, cheesy graphics and voiceover aside, another good review : ) Keep 'em coming

I use EV mode for traffic snarls and like that. If you're moving why burn any gas at all? Put it EV mode and move along. Don't overuse it, the car isn't really made for being driven constantly in EV. Eco mode is the standard and it works beautifully.

I have 2, and they are way better than regular cars, i would never go back to a non hybrid.

They tried to make a car with the lowest kinetic coefficient of drag.

I do agree that this generation looks better than the previous. However, when I tried one in a dealer last week, the steeling wheel is way too low. I have to flatten my wrist, which got pain in 5 minutes. Also, I am confused that the prius V doesn;t have the solar panel roof option.

We just got a one owner 2010 Prius and I love it so far. The only thing I hate is the drivers seat. We went on a four hour trip today and the lower back pain is terrible. I never have back pain. What am I doing wrong?

I like the dashboard´s interior layout, so futuristic.

I bought this new and have had it since 2013, but now I drive a Lexus NX. I still have this baby in my garage for work and road trips and it currently has 40K miles.

I have a Prius. Absolutely boring but incredibly useful. Everyday when I step in my Prius to go to school, I always think to myself, "I'm riding a pussy wagon". Then when I get into stop-go traffic along the way and get into the parking lot, I always think to myself, "Thank god I didn't drive my 4Runner."

I meant to sorry why burn any gas when you're NOT moving. And you don't have to go really, really slow in EV. You can get up to about 25 mph.

@cbcdesign if its so tiring then what you call this. and transporting materials to make the car and import it makes a hell of a lot of pollution.

My parents bought theirs for 12K. It makes its payments in the gas that it saves. lol

@Testdrive98, Mopeds aren't very useful on the freeway.

It's not that hard; the EV mode doesn't work unless you're driving really, really slow anyway. So your choices are really the ECO mode, which is the default, probably best for all-around use. The Power mode favors the gasoline engine for quicker acceleration.

My first 3 kids were conceived inside the Prius, the Prius is so hawt.

@xbatman1x Ive own one since march 2010. Use it. Then throw it away. Low cost maintenance. Driven conservatively/normally it really does get 50ish mpg. Driven hard (mail carrier quick stop n go everyday) between 38-43. So its a buy. Boring Yes.

why are there three different modes to choose from? It's sooooo hard to decide, do I want to drive slow, be eco-friendly and rescue the whole world with my car or do I want all 98 horses, power, and speed?

I honestly think that this car isn't that bad

I think this is a car that's simply designed to sip fuel, and I would prefer a diesel powered vehicle over a hybrid for the time being. Current diesels have more usable torque, and lower sticker prices with less compromises than hybrids. There are cars in the European and Asian market than get much better fuel economy like the Volkswagen Polo Diesel.

Toyota need to update the steering column. It is "HUGE" and looks out of place on the car. LOL

it costs 40k and with a government discount irs around 35k

I prefer the option of keeping my van and walking more or buying a simple compact like a Focus or Corolla. Prius is too more of a statement than an answer.

@lifeseeker1 these cars dont make the "so called" 40 mpg that they say. a BMW M3 will make better fuel economy than this on the highway. A diesel VW will make 70 mpg (and that has been proven). Also the electric motors that they have produce CO2. And not to mention the polution is created to make one of these pointless vehicles.

Actually the best way to go is buying a VW with a TDI motor is the way to go for now. Hybrid is well intentioned but it's still not efficient to manufacture and the longevity of those cars are unknown. TDIs will go for a long, long time and still get amazing fuel economy. On top of that the TDI can be serviced anywhere and for cheap, the same can't be said for any hybrid.

Are you serious? This car does suck, but it's meant to suck to save gas. If Toyota wanted to build a fast car, they could. I know, I own one.

@krtbossman I drive a prius and do so because I drive in the city about 17000 miles a year. I save $1100 a year on fuel. It is a great car to drive and I save A LOT of fuel. I think if everyone drove one, we would be able to increase our national security by not relying on outside sources for oil. I really think you have been listening to airheads like Rush Limbaugh who don't need to worry about the cost of fuel and also don't worry about how many soldiers die to fight the next oil war.

This car is for intellegent folks with money who actually give a damn about the world they live in.

ive driven early priuses. and ive driven a volt. i like the volt better. its american. the money stays in the country. the jobs stay in the country. america gets on its feet again. its a chevy. its all good.

i stopped watching after he said 98hp screw toyota they're ruining the automobile. throw a 350 v8 in that shitty little rice burner, then you'll have a REAL car!!

Your gas bill might be cut but wait until the repair bills come in or when you break down in a rural/remote area. Who will service your car and how much will it cost you then? BTW I love when people who try to defend themselves always call their opponents "haters" or associate them with the "can't afford" crowd. FWIW I'm in the market for an MBZ C300 4MATIC or BMW 328i XDrive, I'll take smooth and quiet power along with solid build quality over a stupid Prius tin can.

so, how did that work out for you? Easy to get rural repairs with your Benz or your BMW? (By the way, a Prius doesn't break down.)

This car is horrible, and its not even that green. 55 mpg, really? VW is making cars that get up to 80 mpg!!! and there not even hybrids, which means they are SO MUCH cheaper. The prius is a green car alright ( in theory ).
