This, clearly is one of the earliest reviews of this car, you really could tell by it's originality in opinions, that's before others began to review from a one dimensional angle, then a bad impression was formed,then every single reviewer simply defaulted to lazily echoing themselves on how bad a car it was, so the media's negativity got to the buyers, and of course, it was discontinued... What a shame. I feel this car was so much ahead of its time... In 2019... I upgraded my 2006 Infiniti FX35 to a used 2013 Acura ZDX, and wow, the only one thing I missed from my FX was how the engine reved, the sound is simply unmatched in it's class throughout the entire industry. My most appreciated thing about the ZDX, besides it's astonishing looks, was that it looked so aggressive but the ride feels so sold and comfortable, nothing like the jaw rattling harshness of an FX, especially on bad roads. The ZDX is a perfect fit for guys with an appetite for fast looking cars, but want the sitting position and ground clearance of an SUV.

I feel bad for Acura, the ZDX should of been a stand out.

Yeah.... and I feel the car would had benefited massively from a slightly longer body and taller roofline, it would still maintain it's daring looks while having more legroom and headroom. (Not that I care much fro that anyway).

This was way ahead of it’s time!

I like this car. It has plenty of space in the back when you put the seats down, even for a bicycle if you're so inclined. Plus, it has the Honda V Tech so it'll be faster then you think it would be and it's just nice. I'm not into luxury but this car has it all. A unique look, a very nice interior, it's very reliable, and it has good performance for it's size. Another thing, Acuras have the best AWD systems too. I see a comment about the FX50 which I also love so it'll be a tough choice, not like I can afford either right now, but the interior of this car is nicer then the Infinitis is but the Infiniti with over 390 HP will be a bit faster then this one is. However, with Honda's V Tech, they don't have to have close to the horsepower that Infiniti has to come close to the performance of the Infiniti. Look at the TL SH AWD compared to the G37 - 305 to 332 hp and the TL's performance numbers are just as fast as the G37s is with their 332 hp. There is no reason not to like this car.

This is the kind of car design I really love, some people love it and some just hate it. It gives the car a unique feel and isn't just another cookie cutter SUV. I personally didn't like the car when I first saw it in photos but in person it looks a whole lot better, the stance and presence of it is great and I would say I like the look very much.

I love my ZDX. I guess a lot of people hate them, but that just makes me like it more. In the two years I've driven it I've seen maybe 3 others on the road. I got a brand new car for just under $50K and it's that exclusive to own? Not a bad deal in my opinion.

I had one as a loaner back when it was new when I had my TSX in for service. I have no idea why this vehicle wasn't popular. It was an awesome ride. I almost traded my TSX for it. I'd love to find a well maintained, used one for a reasonable price. I'd buy it in a minute.

When I put a paper bag over the grill, it ends up looking a lot cooler than the X6 could ever hope to look

Wish they gave it a 6 speed manual option! Would have bought it in a second! Had to opt for the tl sh-awd manual

@RAs4915, I have said the SAME THING! This car does look like a Pontiac Aztec but "futurized". Ever since I thought that, I've been see the Aztec on the road left and right.. they look very much similar. The only difference is, I definitely want ZDX in my driveway!

If it wasn't for the goofy "birds beak" grill thing Acura has going on lately they've have some damn decent looking vehicles.

I have one great ride, handles and it's a head turner. The downsides are it has blind spots out this world and the gas mileages is no where the EPA numbers,would I purchased it again you bet I would.

14 years later and I wonder how many ZDX vs. X6 are still running. I'd say hindsight is 20/20 but even in 2010 no one bought a Beemer for its longevity.

@JeremyBClarkson Acura is the luxury devision of Honda. They are mainly sold in North America, some places in asia and I am not too sure about the rest of the world.

Yeah! typical BMW. However I have to agree with you though while it runs good it is fun to drive them. I just don't think that such fun does worth the agony that comes with it. By the way it is wise not to let your girlfriend to drive the car :)

Wait until it starts to break down. and it will break down sooner than any Japanese car. After you start to pay astronomical bills (actually you sould be paying already astronomical maintenance bills), then make comments over which is better and which is not. :). I am a former BMW owner so I know.

Make that two votes for ugly.... and what is with all the silver painted plastic? I hate the large amounts of the stuff on all the sub $15,000 dollar cars much less a $45,000 dollar plus one.

ZDX is a train wreck. The lower bumper valence looks like a 1960s Pontiac front end, the bottle opener grille is just plain ugly, and the controls of the seats are a direct copy of Lexus/Toyota that date back to 1992 in the SC coupes. The rear door design and glass design are cool but overall for just under $50K with all options it is way over priced. You could get a V8 Infinity FX50 with nearly 400 horsepower, a 7 speed transmission, & electric suspension for a bit more.

It's so fugly. What is Honda/Acura thinking with that gawdy front grill. They need to bring back the NSX and Integra!
