From patch notes: "Three-way intersections now count properly as intersections and cars will slow down accordingly when passing through them. The fact that they did not before was a bug rather than an intentional design choice."
@jmurray1110
2 жыл бұрын
It’s not like the intersecting traffic must give may to the main traffic in real life or anything
Fun Fact: The times when traffic lights are useful are on junctions, (previously it was just on crossroads) When a car goes up to a junction it will automatically slow down. with a traffic light there, if it's green it won't slow down and just go straight through. The reason you haven't noticed is because you very rarely use crossroads which (as i have already mentioned) until now were the only times that traffic lights were useful.

My Advice: When in an emergency, don't delete any roads, first connect the extra road/motorway to the existing roads and when the situation calmed down a bit, clean up afterwards.
This game needs more one way roads and flyover ramps so I can create more efficient junctions like in Cities: Skylines
@prgnify
2 жыл бұрын
Yes! Game is already pretty good overall, having multi-lane roads would still make a big difference. Then maybe exclusive lanes, fine grain control of traffic lights... hmmm
@wjonahw2268
2 жыл бұрын
@@prgnify That's cool, but you don't want to overcomplicate a game that is great in it's simplicity. If you were to add more features/upgrades I would refrain from adding that many. Also if they add more upgrades to the game I think they should make the options for upgrades three choices instead of 2.

I've spent many hours in cities: skylines in pain over the lack of vanilla options (achievement hunting) with what dlc I currently have. The most frustrating truth I've learned is that roundabouts only work for heavy traffic when entering traffic yields properly, which doesn't happen unmodded.

Also excited for more freeways! The free handed drawings make it so funny!
You are absolutely right about the fact that cars wont slow down when they pass through another house's driveway (that free bit of road attached to every house). To take full advantage of this, when connecting houses, try to have the road pass through that tile attached to the house. Just one tile away and they will slow down. A little diversion to take advantage of this game mechanic will actually speed up a journey significantly. The same game mechanics also apply to the entrance/exit of the mall carparks. So when you have several roads converging on a car park, make sure that they all converge on the entrance/exit tab.
Love your mini motorways series. I like these kind of strategy games, as well as the factory games like factorium and shapeio
Matt, just hamming it up all episode. Perfect
Motorway Matt at it again, showing us how the professionals would play this game.
I found your channel through "Recommended" about 2 weeks ago and I have been binge watching all of your stuff since. Keep it up!
Always good to see another Motorway Matt episode.
Traffic lights are useful for places where the traffic crosses. The traffic lights are quite smart and give a lot of green. Traffic doesn't get stuck like in roundabouts.
im so glad when i heard "peace, love, bridges" i thought i wants a shirt of that. then i saw the merch YAY!
I’ve been binge watching your polybridge episodes for the past 3 hours, I didn’t even realise you’d uploaded something new 2 hours ago! Also, you keep saying that nobody calls you motorway Matt, however that is my go to when thinking about your name watching your videos!

I love your vids man! Keep up with the good work!
It is time to start employing shared driveway entrances. Make neighbors share an intersection and reduce their number, which raises the street speed limit.
I cannot stop watching your videos and playing this game!
Welcome back Motorway Matt
Yay keep up this series

Woohoo I'm early today. Here's some engagement for the algorithm.
Video was great but moldy Ham made it my favorite.
12:26 Perfect opportunity to build the strongest shape
Take a look at the houses to see if you have enough assigned to a particular point. If there are idle cars, you have enough and can reallocate some houses to another supermarket / imax.
I cant wait to be a real civil engineer and play this kinds of games like this guy
I have loved watching you do this so much I had to go and buy the game. Would have loved to see you attack the daily challenge that was only one of each upgrade and each week gave you just 20 road tiles.
You should look into playing satisfactory! It’s a bit involved but seems up your alley
@ryanmoore2798
2 жыл бұрын
Definitely would watch
you can see if a supermarket needs more houses by looking to see if the houses currently connected to it have cars parked there. If they do, you don't need to connect more and can save those houses for other destinations, or just disconnect them to reduce junctions/traffic
Really enjoying this series, enjoyed mini metro too please do more videos of them too👍
I haven't watched this yet,but i know this one is a banger!
I think lights were useful in-game because cars slow down at junctions. But they needed upgrading cuz the time it took to switch colors was too long(like NYC lights lmao)
We haven't been given bridges in ages he says just after clicking by 2 bridge rewards.^^
More more more! More Mini Motorways! 😄

MATT! Look at the cars parked in the garages! It means that the house isn’t being used!
I just started watching these videos of yours a couple of days ago, and also your videos of 'mini metro' I am trying to decide which one to purchase. You mentioned in this video that you have not had a good place for traffic lights, and that is because you do not create intersections when you keep colors separate. If your roads never cross each other, there would not be much use for the lights.The videos are great. You make them both seem fun, that does not help me decide...lol
You can use freeways as normal bridges.
Quite some time ago I worked as a production artist for an electronics manufacture. My job was to design P.C. boards. This was a few years before there was computer software to do this. By avoiding crossroads this is pretty much the exact same process. I always found it to be an interesting challenge. The main difference was as a commercial P.C. board, jumper wires (motorways) were forbidden, but I could move the I-Max Theater (components) if I couldn't find a direct connection solution.
I was not expect a Destiny reference in my RCE video.
1:41 I though you needed a bridge because you're an engineer !
Hey i just found your channel and i love it its amazing and cool and informational and i just like it^^
The intro never gets old
Always add bits of roads around the buildings. Not on the first row of blocks, but on the 2nd. That way you can always build roads between buildings.
ive also had the problem of cars not leaving after a rearrangement, as well as if i change their path while already on the roads, they just completely stop in the middle of traffic. I've also learned from another YTer that he groups houses in Col-de-Sacs. I like the arrangement of 3 houses connected together and a branch of to more col-de-sacs. Great videos, see ya!
Fun crossroad fact: in poland in Łódź we actually have eight way crossroad. Its from XIX century so its to old to get rid of it. And yes its absolute nightmare
U got me into freeways
I like how he says "we haven't gotten a bridge in ages" mann around 20 seconds ago u were given a chance
"fall out boy are better" you are correct my friend
the trafic lights stop that slowing down on the crossroads
What interested me is that how do the colors perfectly gathered together instead of mixed.
