I think he was bracing for the impact and shoved both feet to the floor, so he jammed the throttle and brake pedal. What a crazy sound those engines made.

I saw the tail end of the Chris Van Der Drift crash from trackside. It was shocking to see the car come sliding in to view in such a state. I didn't find out about him hitting the bridge until I got home afterwards because I couldn't hear the PA system.

So, one crash missing from both of these you've uploaded so far is Jeff Fuller's crash at the then Nascar Busch Series at Kentucky in 2006.

Look at Villeneuve crash at Spa and how the gravel keeps the car in the wall, compared to the current tarmac runoff consistently causing worse accidents with drivers getting t boned - Hubert in 2019 of course being the major example.

Villenuve's teammate crashed at the same place a few laps earlier. They were both trying to take Radillon flat. Both BAR chassis trashed.
