There'a an error in the description, this is not a direct injection engine, the fuel is injected in the intake manifold (it's basically a turbocharged MPI engine). That's why this engine is easily retrofitted with an LPG installation. Only the newer 1.0 TCe engine uses direct injection.

1.0 TCe doesn't use direct injection. Nissan 1.0 DIG-T however does.

It's the fuel injector sound, totally normal

Such an efficient engine when it's new! But I did some search and found out these turbocharged engines are not reliable doesn't last long! I wanted to buy a Captur 1.5 TCe but I changed my mind to stay with my yaris

Hello from Turkey, i use this engine on my clio. Its 90 hp and 140 nm torque. Average consume is 6 - 7 lt for 100 km(in city traffic). I like this engine and i recommend it.

And what is the problem with that clincky sound. I have that as well to my car and im getting worried. Can u let me know what is the problem?

We had similar sounds on our vw.They said belts change on 180000 but on 40000km it crashed.

It's a timing chain. All apart from the diesel engine are now chain driven apparently meant to last the life of the engine.

Guess you haven't driven one. I have this engine in a Sandero and my dad has it in a stepway. Very very good engine will cruise all day at 80-90mph on a motorway

Fiindca nu ai condus-o si nu stii. Nu exista comparatie cu diesel, motorul nu este zgomotos dacat cand intra turbina.

@@gheorghedanila392 Vorbesti prostii.. Am un Audi A5 180 PS si weekend ul trecut am facut o proba cu un Twingo 2014 Tce 90 PS,m-a lasat placut impresionat. Pentru oras e aur, e mic,usor iar cei 90 PS plus propulsia spate e "haur".
