Motorola Moto G73 5G | Unboxing & Full Tour

Ғылым және технология

Unboxing Motorola's Moto G73 5G, a budget mid-range smartphone that serves up 50MP camera tech, gaming features, long battery life and a sub-£300 UK asking price. The Motorola Moto G73 5G phone doesn't offer OLED screen tech or the same silky smooth performance of some rivals, but it's a decent everyday blower still. Check out my reviews of the best budget mobiles in 2023 for more ideas!
The Moto G73 has a dual camera setup, although that second lens is a simple ultra-wide snapper. That 50-meg primary camera sensor is fine if the lighting is good but you'll see blur and grain in more ambient light, and video maxes out at FHD.
Highlights include Motorola's stock Android 13 experience, that surprisingly powerful stereo speaker setup and the 256GB storage. With microSD memory card support, no less! You also have a meaty 5000mAh battery, so the Moto G73 5G can last a full day of intense action.
However, gamers won't be able to experience a fluid Genshin Impact frame rate, even on low detail settings. Call of Duty and PubG is about the level you should be aiming at, even with Motorola's dedicated gaming features slapped on the Moto G73.
So are you tempted by this budget-friendly smartphone?

I said it before but it's always amazing how I enjoy watching videos of phones I've never seen and have no intention of buying. Having said that you always make it interesting and I enjoy picking up little technical knowledge here and there so when I do go to make a purchase I have a better idea of exactly what I'm looking for. You are always humorous, informative, and interesting and you have a friend in Columbus Ohio

Ahhh yes one of the 200 or so mid range phones Motorola will send out in 2023! Still rockin' my Moto Edge Plus 2022 & waiting on Android 13. Motorola said "early 2023" for the update. Mid March is not early 2023! But still love the phone. Thanks Spurty!

Just bought one of these. Needed a new phone and on a bit of a budget. I'd have liked a OLED screen but it's not a deal breaker. So far for the money I think it's pretty good, 256gb storage no need for an SD card then. I've not noticed any issues with it's speed, having the 120hz screen, everything seems to be very smooth. I don't play games on my phone so that's not an issue. But for general use, it's one of the best phones I've had. Battery life is good, my previous phone was a Samsung M51 with a 7000mah battery, I was getting 3-4 days. This one I charged it Sunday evening, it's had plenty of use, streaming, surfing the web, twitter etc. and now Wednesday afternoon still got 26% left. Not used the camera much, better in good light, OK at night with night mode but definitely have to hold it quite still. For £269 I think it's pretty good.

Picked up one of these a week ago, and so far it's been fine. I needed something budget with lots of storage (without having to put an SD card in) and a 3.5mm jack for plugging into a sound desk without tying up the charging port (and I hate jacks on the top of phones, so this is perfect). Screen scrolling is smooth, touch response is good and battery life is decent. I run stuff that keeps screen on with static display elements, so an ips panel means I don't need to worry about burn-in. Pretty happy about this as a replacement for my bricked Nokia 5.3 (thanks hmd for screwing up the Android 12 update 🙄). Charging rate topping out at 30w isn't that big of a deal - all these super fast rates will ultimately have an effect on battery degradation - that's just physics. Overall is recommend this phone. Time will tell on the longevity of updates, but it's a budget device. If they sell sufficient numbers then maybe there's more impetus to keep it updated.

Found an unexpected big negative of this phone! Might possibly be the case with other Motorola phones too? All the audio recording, be it on videos, or through the voice recorder app, is subject to some noise suppression or filtering, which is hardwired into the software and cannot be removed! It's so frustrating, every video I've taken in the last week of bands I've seen ruins the audio quality, as the software I guess is filtering for human voices and trying to cancel out all other sounds, like typical stock noise suppression settings on Zoom/Skype etc. Really appreciate this channel's reviews, they are so thorough and clear, but would really make a difference in future if you can comment on the audio capture from of the phone's microphone!

Other than problems with syncing and backing up in google ..might be because it's the Chinese version The REAL inevitable problem is with the microphone! People complaining on my calls that they can't hear me well like it's filtering something and makes it worst... I tried turning off the AI noise reduction on setting but it's not it .. I need a phone with LCD and have good pwm protection Motorola offers that ..but updates and this microphone problem are so annoying

I sold my Samsung A54 and bought a Moto G73, because the A54 was too big and heavy, it had a clunky and slow interface, and even it sometimes loaded heavy web pages slowly! But my main problem was with the A54 display, in a strange way it gave me headache and eye pain, after searching the internet I found out that Motorola G73 is the best mid-range phone with IPS screen. I got the 256/8 version for $155 and I am very happy with this phone! High-quality IPS screen that has not a problem outside, light and comfortable, light and fast user interface, very loud stereo speakers, very good battery, 30W charger in the box + memory card port + headphone jack. I hope Motorola continue to produce phones with IPS panel.

When you slightly drop your phone moto 73 5G on a table from 2 inch above, there is a click sound of hardware, feels like something is loose inside. Also, if you tap it with your fingers back side with your finger just below the camera modules, the click sound is heard. This is also heard when the phone is switched off. Anyone owning this phone has this sound? Please reply. Thanks

Strange that Dimensity 930 had slowdown issues since Dimensity 900 on my OnePlus Nord CE 2 (5g) is great with no problems. So I just made a search and found out that oddly enough but it's true D900 is better. In Geekbench D930 is slightly better but loses in everything else like gaming, photos, AnTuTu, and especially in video recording!!! D900 is capable of 4K recording and D930 IS NOT it records videos in max 1080p. Buy an AMOLED 6,43" OnePlus Nord CE 2 5g, 8/128 gb, SD card slot, 3.5mm headphone jack, sadly only a mono speaker BUT it's by far the best quality mono speaker I have ever heard👍, instead of Moto G73, I bought mine for just 179 Euros (150 Blighty quids £) it's still on Android 12 which is bad but Android 13 will arrive any day now.

Suprised the 8gb ram and those Geekbench scores cant run Genshin well, I was going to buy this phone until I saw it cant even do low graphics comfortably. Currently using Samsung M52 and looking for an upgrade around the £300 mark but dont know what to go for and thought the G73 would be the one.

Motorola is absolutely notorious for downgrading their newer models, I think the craziest was how the Moto G Power 2020 was stronger than both the 2021 and 2022 models at the exact same price point. They also overprice their phones pretty badly on launch, which is why they usually drop to half-price within a few months.

Lol. To be honest, there hasn't been an impressive/outstanding budget device from any brand recently. Samsung ruined the A52s with the A53, Xiaomi/Redmi/Poco are all the same mediocre devices with bad software support. Pixel 6a is relatively decent, but still has issues and is not available worldwide...

cheers for the review; the only one I've seen for this phone outside India. Watched quite a few of the Indian review vids though which are useful. I'm thinking seriously about getting one of these. Don't (think I) need a powerhouse phone (my current phone is gettin on 9 year old; I won't say which one to spare the scorn). This phone has been reduced since launch and you can get a further 10% off when ordering directly from Motorola. Looking like a pretty good option at that reduced price.

I'm afraid that most of what is said in this review could be said by examining the phone while it's still in the shop and then reading what is says on the side of the box. A really useful review would examine reasons for not buying the product. The sound is described as "tinny" but even this is glossed over - kind of "not to worry, it'll be fine" approach. Sorry, it won't be fine. The sound shouldn't be "tinny". So what else is there about this phone that isn't quite right? That's what we need to know.
