Motorcycle suspension adjustments (Norden 901 as example)

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Knowing how to adjust your suspensions, even if its just at a very basic level can save you a ton of money!
The Husqvarna Norden 901 is one of thhose bikes... its suspensions are not as big as an enduro bike, but they are good enough to be adjusted to every rider's need, and thats what we will be discussing in this motorcycle suspension adjustment tutorial

if your rebound is more slow than your compression your suspension will pack (getting shorter and shorter) when moving over uneven surfaces - allways make sure that the rebound is faster than the compression - you can also observe that is the case when following one of the many stock recommendations

Watched all 4 of your suspension videos after coming across this one. Liked all of them and subscribed to the channel. Buying your off-road course even just as a big thank you for all the great and clear info on this topic (but looking forward to improving my skills watching them, applying tips and doing suggested excursuses). I have done a prepayment for Norden 901 expedition after 10 years on 4 wheels only (last bike was a 2010 Z1000) and want to really know all the ins and outs about it. Already read all the manual and watched quite a few of great off road tutorial videos… I used to own Yamaha TTR-125LW as my first serious bike (after owning a 3-gears 50cc moped for a few years), so had some pretty good off road experience before getting to roads at age of 16 with a Honda CB400SF… Of course back than there was no great youtube tutorials out there… I think it was only with the Z1000 when I bought some books about motorcycle riding… Anyway:) Thanks a ton, brother!🤝 Ride safe everyone, have fun and great learning times!👍

One thing I had to wrap my head around was that when people are talking about rebound and compression, it's actually rebound DAMPING and compression DAMPING. That means a rebound dampening setting of fully clockwise = slow rebound! Compression dampening fully clockwise = harder/slower through the stroke!

Amazing video like always, lots of information with a slice of humor. And also very usefull, I was having a hard time with the shock, and you gave me the nice ideia of trying to increase suspension travel by going for preload, I still think the shock is to soft and I dont even travel with a passanger ... but will try to think outside the box like you and see if i find a goldie locks zone with the oem .

Forgot to mention very important fact - shock rebound almost always also affects compression damping. So by adjusting rebound you affect overall damping, not just rebound unfortunately

people make suspension far more complicated than it actually is , it really isnt that complicated especially on this bike that has fewer adjustments than the other ktm's ive had , unfortunately , this series does a good job of explaining

I agree... People assume that only a professional can tune suspensions and that they will mess up if they try.... Its so easy to reset the suspension back to factory settings that you can do all the experiments you want even if you dont understand anything about it :D
